So here is an extract from internet.
With the growing popularity of wine-drinking, a place
like La Maison is just what Kathmandu has been waiting for. Wine lovers
now have a reason to rejoice- the motherlode is here. La Maison (means
“The House”) is Kathmandu’s new wine bar serving over 90 varieties of
wine from countries like Australia, France, Italy and Chile. Out of
this, 22 varieties are available to customers by the glass. This is
the largest selection to be made available by the glass by any
restaurant in the city.
If you’d like to buy a bottle but are unsure as to how it might taste-
no worries! La Maison offers you the chance to taste a sample of any
bottle before you decide to buy the bottle.
Another
thing that wine enthusiasts will be delighted about is that given
prior notice, the restaurant staff will open your wine for you and let
it “breathe” so that it is ready for drinking just as you step into the
restaurant. The staff know their wines and are ready to help you make
an informed decision when choosing your bottle.
However, La Maison, despite its wines, is a casual establishment.
Sandeep K.C. a wine sommilier and the owner of the place, wanted to
emulate a French vineyard where he had visited a few years ago. La
Maison’s decor is predominantly rustic with its mustard yellow and
lavender walls.
On the menu, there are numerous tapas dishes to complement your wine.
Expansion projects are underway upstairs for a cigar and Invenio wine
lounge.
Location: Baluwatar (near the Chinese Embassy) in Nhucche Organic Kitchen’s premises.
