Nepal should stay united: King Gyanendra PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 February 2008

BY SAGUN S LAWOTI

Nepal as an independent nation should stand united and uphold its nationalism and integrity. It should never go through the process of disintegration, said King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.

"Nepal should maintain its long held independence.

It will be unfortunate if the nation disintegrates, more so in communal lines," King Gyanendra told nepalvibe.com.

"We will be going backwards if we are looking at baise chaubise rajya," he said.

"Ethnic or communal violence will cost dearly for Nepal, the nation won't be able to bear that."

The monarch stated that the Nepali people's aspirations, especially those in rural hinterlands, have been for stability, peace and security, and the freedom to live and work in peace.

He emphasized that the state should accommodate aspirations and concerns of the people of all hue and shade across the mountains, hills and the plains.

It is imperative that the voices of the people, especially from the far-flung remote areas are heard, the King said.

Though the people have not been able to articulate their viewpoints due to various reasons, it is them who have to speak up.

"It is the people who should act," he said.

The monarch suggested that short-term initiative with no exit plan does not deliver in Nepal's case.

"The future definitely lies with democracy. But what kind of democracy are we looking for," the King said adding, "It is here we all have to understand that democracy has to be home-grown."

Decentralization is a vital constituent of democracy. Besides, it is imperative that the "norms and values" are in place for democracy to be meaningful.

As far as the election to the constituent assembly goes, the King said, "The people have to have the opportunity to cast their vote free of threats and intimidation. If not what kind of election are we looking for?"

Apparently the monarch has his hopes pinned on the youths of the country.

"It is the youth who have to make the difference. The hope lies with them," the monarch asserted.

Besides, change has to evolve, he said. "It has to come through evolution not revolution."

Looking at the way these politicians trying to make Nepal a part of india, its better king comes in power. See what these so called politicians are doing, to resolve Nepal's problem they are having meetings in dhoti's embassy. these Nepali netas are dumb ass f**ked by dhotis. Atlease king needs Nepal to become a king so he will take every possible step to save Nepal from being part of india. but what these politicians has to lose if Nepal becomes part of india? They will be more than happy to become state minister. The situation is getting serious and fair election is no where near the possiblity. Nepal needs someone with vision and power to rule the country. Someone who can take a stand infront of india and lead this country towards development. It doesnot matter if that someone is king or army chief or anyother person but not those so called today's politicians.

just 5 and half caror in more then a decade. How about five and a half caror houses built each year by 350 MP's and ministers each year for the last 18 years?
that comes to 5.5*350*18 crores. You do the math.

How much money does Nepali king earn?

Nepal is one of the poorest counries of the world but Nepal's king is
the highest paid king of the world.

The income of Nepali king Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is :
2,426 times higher than that of Chinese president
318 times higher than that of Indian president
301 times higher than that of Pakistani president
173 times higher than that of Russian president
57 times higher than that of French president
15 times higher than that of British president
10 times higher than that of American president

Netherlands queen's income : Rs. 22,32,00,000 (per capita income Rs 17,25,120 )
American president earns Rs. 3,24,00,000 (1,15,20,000 returns in tax),
(per capita income Rs 25,24,320)
Japanese king earns Rs. 22,23,52,000 (per capita income Rs.24,15,600)
Chinese president earns Rs. 1,35,000 (per capita income Rs 67,680)
Indian president earns Rs. 10,11,000 (per capita income Rs 34,560)
French president earns Rs 57,96,000 (per capita income Rs 15,84,000)
Pakistani president earns (after the coup) Rs 10,94,000 (per capita
income 29,520)
British Queen does not get any salary from the state. She has a
property of Rs 30,24,00,00,000 (the profit of investiment, after
paying the tax, is hers) but even her neckless is the property of the
country.
British prime minister earns Rs 2,19,58,000 (per capita income is Rs 18,16,200)
Russian president earns Rs 19,03,000 (per capita income is Rs 1,54,000)
Belgian king receives salary as a civil servant (per capita income is
Rs 16,74,000)
And,
Nepali king earns Rs 61,91,00,000 (per capita income is Rs 16,560=US$ 230)
[This means the Nepali king earns Rs. 19,878 times higher than a
citizen. Last year it was 37,385 times higher. Thus a citizen can earn
as much as the king earns in a year only after working for 19,000
years or in 316 lives. Ho la!]

Appendix
