Kind of funny...
In 1997, I was a promising young cricketer myself and we used to scrimmage in Kirtipur....I had a chance to play with local stalwarts..I used to open batting for one of the local teams and I faced lanky, left arm seamer...Raj Shrestha..He was not overly impressive but goood.....
11 years after he is still 19 and I am 25 hehehehe...He was like my age or just a year younger then ...Kind of sad how they do these things, they are regressing yong talents who need to be exposed...expose 15 yr olds rather than 25..cuz their potental is alredy hitting the wall..
This is so true. I am from Biratnagar and used to play lot of cricket in my days. Anyone from Biratnagar who passed SLC between 2048 BS to 2054 BS would know Unil Shrestha. He was Naresh Shrestha's son, who held some post with CAN. Unil played U-19 cricket until he was atleast 24. Very sad situation...and we keep bragging about how we won the Plate Championship. No wonder we keep losing badly in the seniors games because we win in the U-19s and U-15s fielding players who are under-25 against genuine U-19 kids and then when it comes to playing big guys, we falter. It is a very good thing that we were disqualified from the U-15s tournament few months ago. They should be strictly checking the ages in U-19 as well. But, will the Cricket Association of Nepal learn? I don't think so.
