hey people.. i want some information about the university.. i can check that out in the website.. but people who live out there in the area.. plz enlighten me with the expenses in living, college.. the community college.. university itself.. and jobs outside.. and also the area to live..
and lastly.. would it be the right decision moving out in San Jose or in CA.. if yes then where..
PLZ HELP.. VETERANS from CA
SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY. i went there during high school for a field trip. By the looks, its pretty nice. Nice location, very close to San Jose downtown. education should be fine but this college isn't an elite in the area. STANFORD and BERKELEY overshadows all the colleges in the bay area. as for the expense goes, you need to make BANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS because this area is expensive as hell...
as for the city's demographics; lot of hispanics and asianssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, which is nice because i love diversity.
where are you moving from???
am from the midwestern part.. i searched the college site.. and it says like 4500 for the university.. and other expenses is excluded.. and by banks.. what you mean.. uhh.. just wanted to survive and graduate.. in CA.. what do you think veterans??????????????
housing is expensive, thats all...
Shakeen how abt SCU ( santa clara university) do u have any info?
scu is even more expensive....if you can afford scu why not choose stanford?
scu is targeted for posh christian family kids ....
if i were you (assuming you have $30k to spare /year ) i would go stanford..
living cost?..yes its $1k/month (cheapest) single bedroom apt, you can find cheaper one..but i guess you dont want to live with low income hispanic and black community...where even a postman doesnt want to come in fear of getting robbed or watever......if you rent a room (in a family house- mostly vietnamese and indians) its $400-$500/month,,,and you have to eat outside...
solution?....find some nepali students and share apartments...
part time work?...dont expect it as a texas fortworth....
good luck..
santa clara costs 33K and stanfrod cost 35k. as for housing, biggs05 is correct, you can find a room for around 500 bucks, not sure about 400.
to be honest, you will likely not find a job here for a while unless if you have a hook up. too much competition!!! too many people willing to do job for lower wage than you. plus, bay area is really small compared to other metropolitan areas.
san jose is the biggest city in bay area and in my opinion it doesn't have the big city vibe. there is nothing to do there, kinda lame.
but ya, we have less black people than east coast haha....
man shakeen.. seems like you have a lot of knowledge bout CA.. if you wana go there as a student.. then which place in CA you prefer the most..
am getting dumb as day passes by...
CA is an expensive place, except for the desert.
as a student, i would prefer SAN FRANCISCO because of the city itself. REALLY SMALL CITY but has high DENSITY. lot of things to do, jobs aren't hard to find either, plus lot of nepali students so finding a roommate should be easy.
why are you planning to move here? CA?
I really cannot understand why people are so obsessed with California. It is not a state meant for students, fools - unless you got good scholarships that is! I lived in Cali last summer and I can't see why people are so obsessed with moving to California. Don't GO to BAY AREA! Keep away! A single bed room for $1000-1300 dollars. How ridiculous is that?! What's more, unless you've got a link, you won't get a job! You can find a job if you have work permits but otherwise, the chances are pretty slim!
Stay away from Cali guys! Go to Minnesota!
just pissed off from midwest area
bro still here in the midwest.. tried to move up.. but time and situation still held me up right in the same place where i wanted to get rid off..
