How to Make Resume Attractive!
Hey,
I am just confused about what the Resume should look like along wiht the cover letter. I have seem peoples resume like 3 pages or more mine hardly exceeds a page.
Though I have constantly improved in my resume, can somebody inlight in this ? What to focus on and how to format. DO we have to write everything ? Any suggestions from recent job holders or those seeking for job will be appreciated.
Cheers !

your resume is supposed to be just 1 page....you dont need to write everything you did since the time you were born...if you are an undergrad, you are supposed not to mention any highschool's achievements unless they are extraordinarily exemplary :)
as long as content,,,the general format is
Education
honors/awards
work experiences
Leadership/Activities
Skills
These are the main sections..the experience should cover most of your page at least half..
Just keep in mind that your resume will be skimmed for 30 secs
dont make yr resume look like packed...use action verbs ..explain what results you brought more than what you did..
hope this helps
Sampada,
I have been through what you're going through right now. In my opinion, you should always be prepared to slightly trim your resume every time you apply for a new position refering to the position's requirements. To get a job quickly, first deeply analyze all the requirements or job duties/responsibilites stated in an opening and make your resume accordingly. Try to put the phrase or technical words used in the job duties into your resume and try to show that you've wide experience or deep knowledge about it. You can exageratte a bit about your experiences. If the job is asking for some thing that you have not practically done at college, just say that you studied that thing while at college and thus have a wide knowlede on it.
Furthermore, you can also google for cheap resume writers. Usually, they ask for $65 or more but you can get some for as low as $30, which will include few versons of resume with attractive words and phrases.
Good Luck to you!
