Could you please give me suggestions about studying the NCLEX-RN. I am taking after 2 months, I am so stressed, I feel like I don;t know anything. Which is the best book for NCLEX? How to study for the exam. If you have taken that exam, please share your ideas.
Thanks a lot!!!!!!

hey guys,

How much time do we need to prepare for the test and how much u paid for that?

Is workshop worth to take or we can do self preparation? Somebody told me we have to read 3000 questions/ answers. To be in best shape, we have to by heardt 5000 Q/A. That is not easy.

Kaplan and Sauders both are great. You dont have to buy both one is more than enough.. it also depends on your learning style.
I would recommend one book... and prefer Saunder. Thats my personal opinion. Two months is more than enough.. but also depends on your learning style.
I would also recommend you .. do not get carried away by others' comments..  everybody has different learning styles.
Do not panic..  plan properly.. Good luck!!

Coffee333, In California Toefl/Ielts  is required for nursing job or not?,. I heard, after passing Nclex we can apply for a nursing job and English test is required for Green card, is that true.
Thanks a lot

1710s. Its not limited to California. You need to show the proficiency in English language no matter whichever state you select to work on. Only people who graduated from US nursing school are exempted... (i am not sure if you still need it even if you graduate from any other english speaking countries). In general, if you have not graduated from us nursing school, you have to take english language test too.

Coffee333, so you mean In california we need to have English test before apply for nursing job. I don't know, one of my friend told me that we can find a job before taking english test. During job we can take English test before filing for greeencard. I was curious about the English test.

1710s, that is true. you can take toefl after you get hired.. there is a period of certain time like i guess 6 months...
But, in the worst case,, if you don't pass then there will be a lot of issues with visa...  and sponsorship. Let me know if you have any other questions.

to all taking NCLEX soon. Good luck! i recently took NCLEX RN too and it was not as bad as lot of people say it is. But i went to School here in USA so may be that helped me. I used KAPLAN practice questions as it was provided by my school. focus on infection control, delegation and prioritization type questions. KAPLAN questions were lot harder than actual NCLEX in my opinion. staying calm and trusting the instinct is the key i think. don't listen to negative people and feel down. I took it a month after graduation. so 2 months is more than enough. Good luck once again!
