Nepali's American accent is much funnier than Nepali or Indian accent. Hence try not to imitate American accent while speaking English.

It was a message in a person named Prashanta Adhikari (प्रशान्त अधिकारी) "Hello, you've reached (प्रसान्ट् अढिकारुइ)...!" yea, I know. Your name doesn't have any meaning now!! Why the hell you have to say your name in such a fake accent. Gorele po najane ra testo bolchha, why should you corrupt your name?

I don't think one accent is funnier or superior to the other.You might not like my accent or I might not like yours.It doesn't make any difference to any of us.. All you have to care about is getting your point across whether it be in Nepali or Indian or American or NepaliAmerican. I don't give a shit about it.All I know is I love my accent. Peace out.

No, you don't have to be oh, so considerate to all the whites. If asked again, you can always redo it. It doesn't matter. The world doesn't revolve around them. In fact, they too try to learn we pronounce our name in Nepal.

well i don;t think it's being considerate to the whites. i haven't heard a single american pronounce my name the way it has to be pronounced in nepali. but the way they say it makes it sound cuter :D...i am emulating them to sound as they do. regarding accent, the point is to be slow and clear. doesn't matter you have accent or not. this is a free country so do what u want, the way u want...(but don't be stupid)

one bitter reality. American people they pretend to be not understanding our accent sometimes. you know the reality is when they listen the "need to know or better to know information", they ask you 2 or 3 times to show them smart that we foreigner are not that English smart. When they listen the "Must to know information",then, they easily figure out what we foreigner are saying in a single shot.

hahaha pire sir, may be the way they say ur name sounds rogue. :P. i am not too meticulous about pronunciation long as meaning is conveyed. aba bideshi le india bhane pani, indian le bharat bhane pani tyo hamrai chhimeki rastra lai bhanya ta ho ni, hoina? some says it indiya and to some it's indya. i may be loote to some, looTe to others or Loots to few or lootekukur to others. in all forms, its me. :D..i don't need it to be what it sounded like when my mom used to call me. but i understand ur feeling. i am sure u get pissed off, when they say nepol to nepal, hoina?

the Ups or fed-ex guy delivers the package almost everday at my workplace. i sign for it. I've changed the way i wanna be called. I mean i HAD TO. i rarely get "a what'? after i address my name. It saves you at times. i say keep accenting y'll. This nation was never ours. them callin our name in our accent? this is not going to happen. lets cut a deal. help ourselves. dont get it twisted,but thatss how you get diffused. salad bowl or the melting pot theory?

Well, how do you explain when you talk to Nepali and tell him/her your name is प्रसान्ट् अढिकारुइ? I don't think this fake accent is limited to their interaction with foreigners alone. It is just a way to be like a white man, which I don't think you guys will succeed anyway in this life:)

if your name sounds something like' surerathumtirerumpuran ' and u want kheryas to pronounce it correctly, then good luck. i hope you have entire day and he has effort, no aDD ( attention deficit disorder) and willingness to learn it. who gives a shyt anyway, he'll forget in 20 secs...a name is a name. i was recently asked my name at Noodles and Co, after i made an order, to call up when my order is ready. I told him my real name, i was asked twice, and then asked to spell.. what a waste of his time and my time. not that he is going to remember or try to learn it anyway. next time i'll go there, i'll tell them my name is R2D2 or something.... my Nepali name is for my Nepali and american buddies who wants to learn my name, knows the meaning, my family who are used to and my pic comes to their head when the names is pronounced.. not for some random khaeray to jump asking me WHAT? .... also we can't be demanding cuz like the dude above me said, it is not our nation. their culture is worldwide, we watched their showes, read their book and familirized with their language cuz we had to come here or work with them/for them.. they don't have to.. if they don't want. to.... lucky bastaaards... so spare a kheray from calling your name.. it's not imp.. really

it depends on who you were raised around. as for me, a lot of asian kids, hispanic, black, and middle eastern kids. basically noone had american accent so i got no accent either. but there are times when i sound white, which i try to avoid from happening...
