Undeserving!! Though they had a record breaking season, he wasn't the go-to-guy who made all the difference. If the voters were looking for individuality, then Kobe should've got the award and if they were looking for team-work, Stevie Nash (hands down) is the most deserving. Nowitzski can't carry a team by himself! This is charity in the name of basketball!!!

Common, he deserves the MVP. As I had expected, the best player on the best team is the MVP. I feel bad for him, after getting beat like that in the first round, that MVP award must really mean jack.

Ok...You're correct in your point of view where the best player in the best team gets the MVP, but I don't think he still has what it takes to be an MVP: An all-round LEADER rather than just a regular scoring machine who occasionally grabs a few rebounds.

The thing with Dirk is that he the toughest match up in the nba. His size and shooting touch causes match up nightmares for every team. Every time people only remember the current events. We tend to forget the past. I still remember how Dirk was stepping up and killing my beloved Spurs last year. I know the Spurs messed up a little, but at the same time you cannot discount the impact that Dirk had in that series. Back to the MVP debate, his percentages of 50, 40 and 90 in field goal, 3-point and free throw respectively, is just incredible. That being said, his impact is far greater than what his stats show. He is 7 ft tall, so the guy guarding him (mainly the tallest guy in the other team) will have to leave the paint to contest Dirk's shot. That actually leaves the lane wide open for Dirk's teammates for dribble penetration. His defense has gotten better. And, in spite of just 8 rbpg, he is a monster on the rebounds... Anyway, enough about Dirk. Duncan is still the BEST.

i dont think dirk was killing spurs last year. dallas almost lost that game. and dirk got foul call which was not even foul. the thing is dallas got lucky last year coz manu ginobli was charged with foul which he hadnt committed. so they went to final but since they didnt deserve that they lost the finals. and i dont buy that matchup nightmare. actually dallas was having matchup nighmare with goldenstated this year. so i dont dirk is unstoppable. even 8th seeded team which barely made playoffs can shut down dirk. I am not saying dirk didnt deserve MVP but he choke as well in crucial moment.
