Hi Peps,
I was looking for tickets to go to Kathmandu around the end of this month and I am getting the fare around $5000. What's up with that? I might not be looking at the right website. Does anybody know ways to get cheap tickets to ktm.
Peace,

$5000 r u kidding??? @@@!!!~~~~````++++====____-----*****%%%%^^^
i have not idea about but most of the people i know went to nepal in $1300-2000 depending on the season.
may be u are trying online services...like expedia, priceline so on. i guess you need to contact travel agency run by nepali...
go to Thai airways website, they have advertised 1400$ including tax either from jfk or from lax
Go via Delhi. I think you can get the deal for 1200-1300. Tray British airways and Jet Airways.
Can somebody please post me email or phone no. of some travel agents? Agents you think are good and can give me a good deal too.
I appreciate your help folks.
Peace
I have got mine from peaceland travel. they are very helpfull. I got mine £130 cheaper than any other travel agent or internet site.

This Travel Agency is owned by Nepali. Call to Usha.
I flew in 2005 in $1280... so now an 50-100 $increment would sound a reasonable price. I took Gulf which was crappy. Specially the one from Abu Dhabi to Kathmandu, it was the worst plane I have ever boarded. So try other airlines. They even did not have any respect for kathmandu bound passengers.
i have heard so many complaint about this gulf air thing.
first of, the personnel of the airline have some wrong way of thinking about nepalese in general. They give like two different treatment for the passengers depending who they are. ( I guess that's why they are being treated like that by the WEST)
One of my friends' luggage got lost on the way, and of course the followup was worst, and she was so frustrated by the whole incident. she went to nepal for like a month or so to relax and enjoy with her family, and ended up worrying about the nonsense luggage thing the whole time.
I guess you get what you pay for, but still these are some of the fundamental and basic things we expect from any service industry.
$5000 re :S:S
i bought my ticket from Zen travel for $1215 . They are real professionals .They gave me the best rate.
good luck
Lutii
