Just so you all know, Sachindra Nepal, the cab driver who was arrested for raping an 18-year-old girl in Ocean City, Maryland, was found guilty on ALL 5 accounts of rape and sexual assault yesterday in court. He is now in a State prison and will be deported back to Nepal as soon as possible as part of his sentence. And to all of you who thought the "ocean city sluts" were to blame for this matter, well, let's thank God that the jury did NOT agree with you.

There's no point to argue. I wasn't there, and none of you were either. Why sit around and take sides? Who know's what really happened? The fact of the matter is, Nepal was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you don't have the details of each side you really can't sit around and disrespect anyone.

Just to be fair ... I have one question. Will the victim of this rape be punished for drinking undere the age, which is not legal - .i.e., a crime!! People that served her alcohol are also criminals - are they being punished?? If not why not??? All cimes should be dealt with ... why were they not dealt with .... or were they?? The punishment the rapist received was the right punishmengt!!

read the follwoing article. I hope you all know who Joe Francis is if not he is a big guy for "Girls gone wild " videos. Anyway my concern is if the guy involved in this underage drunken and sex explicit was a forigner he could have gotten Rape case but this guy being white (I assume) are let go. Jennaline this proves the law and order being racist easily Source http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16764336/from/RS.2/ Joe Francis, 33, also was ordered to pay a $500,000 fine as part of a plea deal he made with the U.S. Department of Justice in September, when he plead guilty to failing to document the ages of young women engaging in sexually explicit acts in the tapes. Under the deal, Francis acknowledged he included footage of two drunken, underage girls shot in Florida in the videos.

those are nice DNA stories... however that isn't applicable here, they USED DNA in this case.

It was consensual. No need for DNA.

i'm sorry, but i'm pretty sure that those of you who think sachindra was soooo victimized would feel quite differently if the situation were reversed. if a nepali girl went to court claiming to be raped by a white man, you really think you'd feel sorry for him, and think he was in the wrong place at the wrong time? i think you'd feel very loyal to and sorry for the "poor girl" and p.s.... obsolete... you can't just assume the sex was consentual. how do you know he's not LYING?? because nepalis never lie, or something?

Jennalinne, you know I think the Nepali rapist got what he deserved. However your contention ... "you can't just assume the sex was consentual. how do you know he's not LYING?? because nepalis never lie, or something?" ... someone can pose the same question this way "how do you know the victim is telling the truth. because white girls who drink illigally don't lie? the bartenders who sever drinks to these girls don't lie!!!" Why do you find it so hard to even consider that the CONVICT might possibly be telling the truth. It might be that he conceived that he was having a consentual sex!! No matter how heineous the act we need to consider everything!! " if a nepali girl went to court claiming to be raped by a white man,..." - your statement!! .... can you gurantee and say with a straight face that the white man who is accused be convicted... comeon now ... if you think that you must be pretty naive. The media would be all over this poor Nepali girl accusing her of being a whore who is trying to trap a white guy so that she can stay in US and become permanent residence and so forth... Comeon now... I understand your sentiments about the convict on this case and the victim but please don't be naive enough to paint the picture of the US justice system as being a Utopian justics sytem .... it's far from it and any highschool graduate knows that!! Yep

"This was the sort of case, Eschenburg said, where there could have been two juries and each would have come up with different verdicts and no fault could be found with either of them" Reading what was said, I believe Mr. Nepal should've been given the benefit of doubt- "better ten guilty men go free than one innocent be punished." -ChrisCornell

"The media would be all over this poor Nepali girl accusing her of being a whore who is trying to trap a white guy so that she can stay in US and become permanent residence and so forth... " I think I'm more familiar with the U.S. Court system than you, but nice try. This isn't 1950, and that's not how it would work.

Why cuz the color of your skin? you sound like a racist whore, by the way you're just as much at fault for leaving your drunken slut friend to pass out on her own vomit and later sleeping with a complete stranger... what's it called in your culture? a one night stand

i know more about it because i study it, and i've lived in america forever. and clearly you haven't read this whole thread, i never said i was there that night. it's one think for peopel to have opinions on the fairness of laws, or to want to defend one side of the story of another for various reasons. but some of you are just bitter. poooor sachindra, he's such a clueless victim, singled out because the U.S. HATES people who aren't white. that's what you're saying, right? then why do you think at every public university, we actualyl give scholarships and LOWER admission criteria to minorities, to try to bridge the gap? in our own country? just make sure you know what you're talking about before you just start spewing out crap and calling people whores.

jennalinne, I don't know what you have to gain by repeatedly coming back to this forum where the stated opinions certainly will have no bearing on you nor your friend's life. Like I said before, people will have different viewpoints and that won't change no matter how hard you try. It is only natural for people to take sides. You are doing yourself and your friend no favor by stoking the fire here. Go live your life and help your friend live hers.

Hey guys why are you bringing this issue since it not a matter of pride? Mistakes and crimes happen in every corner of the world regarding any country and race. Let this thread vanish somwhere in the corner of the sajha so that no nepali get offened because if this sad incident. Since he is already convicted, there is no place for me to prove innocence.

Jennalinne your racist tendency surfaced right here when you responded to my last comment by saying "I think I'm more familiar with the U.S. Court system than you, but nice try. This isn't 1950, and that's not how it would work." I was born and raised in the US and currently studying law in Minnesota. I know more about LAWS in the US and the COMMON law that US based on than you can evenr imagine to know. Your assumption that I am a "foreigner" just because I might be of Nepali descent proves to this whole group that you are bias to a degree of being a racist and everything you have said so far here have been nullified and discredited by a simple misjugment on your part!! Now I am wondering whether you were part of the underage drinking party that the VICTIM attended and that you feel guilty that one of your drinking buddy got into trouble and you are trying to compensate for your failure by subtly attacking ALL NEPALIS as BAD!! Did you buy the drinks for her. Jennalinne, did you commit this heinous crime? Shame on you ... If I were you go the authorities and admit to your crimes .... they might go easy on you!!! Yep

She claims she wasn't there that night so right then and there she should STFU b/c she wasn't there to really know if it was rape or not... just b/c of the convictions, anyhow sachindra may have lost his american dreams but you better beleive there are plenty more nepali people out there doing great and we're not stopping, we're going to come each yr and flood this country.. JAI NEPAL

If indeed, its over as you say it is, isn't it time for everyone to move on? I'm sure your friend wouldn't appreciate you playing a part in keeping this discussion going. If you think justice has been done, I don't understand why you feel the need to keep this up.
