Biratnagar introduction: Biratnagar (बिराटनगर), a sub-metropolitan and Nepal’s second largest city is located in Koshi Zone on the southern Terai belt of Nepal, near the south-eastern border with India. The population of the municipality is 166,674 (2001 census). It is the administrative centre of Morang district. Biratnagar is known for agriculture, commerce and industry. It performs as an important transit point for goods leaving and entering India through the nearby border crossing, and serves as a trading centre for the farming communities in what is one of the most densely populated areas of the country. The countryside around the city is taken up mostly by rice cultivation. Biratnagar is linked with Kathmandu by road and air. Biratnagar Airport is the regional hub for vital air services serving the remote Eastern Hills, and there are regular flights to Kathmandu. INDUSTRY Nepal's first large scale industry was set up in Biratnagar: the Biratnagar Jute Mills in 1936. Today, the city has some of the largest industrial undertakings in the country. While taking a bus travel to Biratnagar from any other places, one can see a large number of industries on both sides of highway. Hundreds of small and medium sized industries operates freely including chemical, edible oil, steel, liquior, soaps factories, among others, covering large portion of area that links Biratnagar with Itahari, a central transit point of eastern Nepal TOURISM The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve (90-minute drive) is a bird-watching spot. The Koshi Barrage on the Koshi river (two-hour drive) is an impressive sight. Biratnagar is the hub of air routes in eastern Nepal. Nobody mentioned about the corner in front of choolaa chooli art, everyone gathered there to read newspapers across from the traffic police building. shyam pustak bhandar ( biratnagar's own famous) adarsha jalapaan griha ( is it still there in the main road?),how about the old old oldest Janata school? the yellow color of it was so appaling( Girija did his SLC from there hola). Hey and the new movie hall Krishna Talkies..damn that was a fun thing when I watched Rangeelaa there. What about bajeko pasal, nareko sekuwa, main roadko side ma maachaa fry and local thaRRa?,damn those were the days.Movie posters posted everywhere JalJala,Himalaya,Arun, now Krishna..hehehe.Rattling noise of blacksmiths and weilders doing their iron works with those acetylene flames.I feel like leaving right now,it's making me homesick again. I could never make out as to why the way the traffic islands have been built in between the dharan road.

Hi dedo, nice to know u were also in St. Joseph's. May i knwo which batch? I am from 53 batch. Yeah divdude , anyone who knows biratnagar wells knows all the things which you told. I personally felt, after i stayed long in KTM and when i went back to BRT, i could feel like in Heaven. Inever wanted to stay in KTM. KTM Sucks. KTM bata BRT ayera basda ta kahan kahan soonya and silent lagney. There was a great peace in that silent. When at evening we used to go to Sahid maidan and see th eplayers playing, that was the lovely thing i used to do when i was free. Home is where the soul is and brt has my soul. I LOVE BRT.

Biratnagar is a nice place with really friendly people. I spent four beautiful years of my life there. I used to go to Siddartha (class 5 -8, though i did slc from ktm later in 2058 B.S.2002 AD). I had really amazing friends, used to play a lot of cricket, went to dozens of quiz competitions, won many of them. Had a lot of relatives and friends there, so it was a cool experience. If there's anyone from siddartha, please write.

Biratngar is the most beautiful place in the world. Whenever I used to return home(brt) in vacation from Ktm, I felt like going to heaven. I can never sleep in any other place as deeply as in my bed in Brt :-( So glad to tell you guys that I am going home this december. I am taking lots of pictures and posting them here also. If you guys have any special thing/place/person that you want me to capture in camera and post here, let me know. I will be more than glad. East or West, Biratnagar is the Best.
