Hey sunkoshi good to know you passed your NCLEX i am not into medical person but i know a little. From what i heard, nurses are not eligible for a F1 they straight away apply for their greedcard, you need your permanent license and then a hospital or nursing home to sponsor you and a visa certificate. http://www.usavisanow.com/nursegreencardinfo.html for more information you only get an H1B if you are a nurse that specalize in something i dont think you need to go to school, then again i am not sure on that.

apply for a job once you get the sponsorship and your file been filed i think you dont have to maintain your F1 status ( iam not sure about this check with lawyer) are you in california?? if you are then its easy to find sponsorship. Now a days lawyer aske for the visa screen certificate before they file a petition.coz you get your GC bet 5 to 6 mons ( depends on where you live) let me know if i can be any help

hey chill out. i am only stating the truth. and fact is bitter. i just want to point out that Nepal's hospital and Nepalese need nurses as much as America needs. Therefore what would happen if ever one day Nepal runs out of quality nurses.? No body seems to care for Nepal. terrible

exactly my point! when nepal runs out of nurses, you can go and HELP OUT... to make long story short: jus practice what u preach. or zip it! It is almost shameful that people want to have their way in nepal, even at someone else's personal costs, while they flaunt not knowing nepali and not staying in nepal and fritter away from the comforts of their western-civilized concerns for the third world! i hope u got it this time, what i am trying to imply!

you jerk i didn't study to become a nurse although my parents were up for it. and me being outside of nepal for all these years dosen't mean i don't have heart for the motherland. the reason i was raised in "bidesh" was due to my dad's occupation. i didn't have any choice when he brought me when i was only learning to walk and talk. but these very people born, raised and trained as nurses have the thick skin to leave nepal just for better income. and if i was nurse now i of course would return to nepal and practice my profession there. the feeling and pride from the service you done to your own people outweighs the better income oversea. i bet you people don't know all these. you only got eyes for BIG $$$.

Sunkoshi, Very lucky gal cuz you aced NCLEX and did it. Bravo! I would not blame for posting your query for asking advice from people who have very little knowledge about the process of finding Nursing Job. Let me give you advice what you need to do next if you are eager to start working as a RN. I assume you live in California. If you don't live in California, consider moving to California because timing is very important for you. If you live out of state and are trying to endorse your license and starting working, it will delay and you will lose of applying for green card processing right the way. According to the eminent immigration lawyer website, visa numbers for green card processing for RN are about to be used up. Do your paper work as soon as possible before November 1st since website mentions only about 1000 visa numbers are available. As visa number gets unavailable, you won't be able to file I485 Adjustment of Status application to adjust to Permanent Residency right the way as you can do now. As you said you have passed your NCLEX, you will receive your CA RN License within six days from Sacramento. First print your license from the CA board of Nursing website and use it for job interview till you receive your original CA RN License Card. It would not be any issue for Nursing Recruiter. California is a heaven for Nursing Jobs because of new California law that requires one RN for every six patients. I am pretty sure you will get many Nursing Job offers in few days in California. Once you have a job offer, either you should ask Hospital's Attorney or you can hire yours personal Attorney if you have one. Most Hospitals reimburse the cost of Attorney for your accrued cost of immigration processing. Once your paper work is processed, you should expect at least two months to get approved of your Alien worker I140 petition. Maintain your F1 status until your case is approved. So think why not finishing whatever the classes you enrolled. Good idea. As of today Nurse can file both Alien Worker petition (I140) and Adjustment Of Status to Permanent Residence (AOS) (I485). I140 approval let you to work right the way that probably takes about two to three months. I485 approval make you Permanent Resident or Green Card holder, which takes months to few years depending on your case. l Visa Screen is a credential assesment program offered by CGFNS to meet the minimum requirement for Immigration before issuing the green card. As Visa Screen Certificate is must to get green card, without visa screen green card case will be rejected. For visa screen more information, please check this link. http://www.cgfns.org/sections/prog/visa.shtml I hope it answer and helps you a bit suhkoshi. Good luck I Think So

Sunkoshi...better talk to HR ...coz some hospitals are reluctant to petition .... More ever, go to medhunters.com...and try to find the hospitals which are desperatly trying to hire nurses...look at the date..job is posted..coz for the petition they need to ad the job for 10 consecutive days. Good luck Aneesha PS PM me ....lets see if I can help u
