One thing i would like to add is that 1990 world cup was held in Italy and Italy was defeated by Argentina in semi-final (it was in tri-braker though).
I will not be surprised if Argentina repeats the history again this time.

Once Zidane gets back, and if Henry and Trezeguet all play, France will be a hard team to beat.
Looks like they have gathered momentum and their defense looks rock solid.
Spain will most probably get a thrashing.
I do not think Italy has a chance if they play like the way they were playing in 1st round.

I almost agree with BHALUJAGATE's prediction except the result between Switzerland and Ukraine.
if i have to pick by looking at the games so far then out of big teams would be :Germany or Basil and from second category :Spain, Netherland

I'd say Argentina will meet either Spain or Portugal in the final, then Argentina should win.
here's my prediction.
All is fine except for the final result. Put BRAZIL as the winner and it makes more sense.

That first half from Germany against Sweden, whooaaa !! that killed me man. Germany is looking impressive. It was the best football I have seen the Germans play since the 90s when they won the cup. They were all over the place. Sweden is a good team, mind you, but the Germans displayed a magnificent football shooting fluently. Miroslav Klose is one of the best centre forwards in the game and with Podolski, that attack is monstrous with Ballack, Sneijder, Frings and Shweisteineiger orchestrating the midfield, and the Golden Drawrf Philip Lamh coming from the flanks, they are now the heavy favorite to lift the trophy.
I think my Prediction is that the Germans will win in their home ground. Although, I am a die-hard Holland fan, I expect them to reach atleast the last four, the Germans are unstoppable.
So, My prediction will be Germany.
I thought this time around England would do it but by watching them play sssssssss.. they don't have any chance. I think/wish Argentina will win the cup.
I'm a Brazil fan and i want Brazil to win, but if the final is between Germany and Brazil, then with home advantage, Germany will win. But if it is against any other country then, Brazil's got the upperhand. Brazil's defense is vulnerable on middle side, and the goalkeeper, Dida, is weak in crosses, remember? ;) If the final is between Germany and Brazil, i will be cheering for Brazil.
