Shekhar was my friend since we were in collage. He was one of my good friend. I couldn't dare to see his dead body nor am I being able to believe the fact. It forseems like yesterday he talked to me. Few weeks ago he told me he was moving from his old apartment to new, he hasn't updated his mailing address from my old address. Now this apartment complex often reminds me his innocent face. I have been knowing him since last four years, I can't imagine how his family have been back there in country. He was dream of his parents. May god give them strength to over come through this grief. As far as I know him, he have always been friendly. He was my friend from NSS, National School of Sciences in Nepal to this last moment. He fulfilled the requirement of frenship but left us alone in the middle of this miserable world. He was among one of the student who wa tired of situation in the country because he told me he wouldn't have been here in United state if the collages back there in country wouldn't remain close often then they open. He was tired of the political situation. I still remember his words when he was preparing for MBBS entrance about continuing his higher education in engineering back there in Nepal if he can't make it in MBBS. But the people back there is my country is never gonna understand all these, they just fight for power, when are they gonna understand that there is nothing besides tears and loss. My request to those people, live peacely and let the people live in peace. Shakher didn't come here because he wanted to. He was forced, and whoever came here to study ask them how complicated life out here is. Shakher - this apartment complex where we lived together seems like hell to me now. Everyone here is missing you.

+2/ISC, .... unsuccessful MBBS attempts, then the US; Undergraduate life.... challenges in adjusting with a strange lifestyle; economic hardship ... Shell and Exxon; then the threats ...death for the sake of protecting few dollars to be claimed by others..! Sad Story!! I am extremely disturbed by hearing yet another such incident. May his soul rest in peace!! For others, life goes on....!!

I m just a student and my voice will be pressed eventually, but those people who can fight against the workers law, my request for them, I am asking for help. Money is not going to bring Shakher back but it will be very helpful to his family, no matter if they wanna donate but please if there is any thing I can do, I will definitely but I am just a student working with out permit like Shekhar. Yes, I m talking about workers compensation. My request to all those people if you are working in such place, make sure you are insured by worker's compensation programme, so that if any thing happen to you, your family mightn't have to live hard life. No one knows Nepali life how hard it is besides the same Nepali. They have to pay for loss.

Everyone's busy pouring condolence but no one is even looking at the real deasease. The real deasease is the false information about easy life as an undergrad in the USA.

sandip, if he is taking cheque[not taking cash] then he is covered under workers compensation. Issue here is who is going to claim it provided that his family is not here. if somebody files for it with all the documents they will surely receive it. since you are his friend and may be in close contact with the family. have them file the claim. =====================================================

such an innocent smile, may his soul rest in peace. Unity is the first thing, our ethnic and false ego dominated society, not to mention hard conditions makes all these tributes fade away. The real tribuite will be to console the heart broken parents and family members, by giving them all the sollicitude we can as an individual or a community.

i met shekhar in sajha chat for the first time and later on i met him in person... he studied in Southern Arkansas University where i studied for a semester.. this gas station is where my room mate used to work 18 hours daily in summer. I used to go there very often ..that was like our place to get free beers and stuffs......shekhar got some new nepali students who transfered from arkansas at my place.. he was at my apartment 2 days before that happened. i just cant believe all these.... this is probably the biggest pain i ever had till now..... santos
