How to Renew Nepali Passport ?
We live in West Coast and the Embassy is not offering mail in Passport Renewal service.
Is that true ?
The airplane ticket costs $700 per person from the West Coast.
Our country Nepal is such a worse country. They cant even provide a small service like renewing passport by mail.

dhasukha,So the things have changed now. They want Nepalese nationals to be present in the embassy itself, to do some kind of live enrollment..hmnn...Well looks like you have to go there in person then. So out of curiosity, is it so hard for you to travel to embassy in Washington? (That $700 per person is not the cost of domestic flight, is it?) The website is not telling us to go back to Nepal to renew the passports, they are just asking us to come ourselves to embassy...right? Correct me if I am wrong. I had used 'mail-in-renewal' service of Nepalese Embassy in Washington a long time back to renew the passport. If I have to renew the passports again, I will surely go to NY, as myself being in the east coast.

When you do pre-enrollment using their website provided, the "PROCEED" button is not working. It does not let you click. Can someone let the Nepalese authority know about this technical problem?
Why remove the good service that was already in place ? Mailing the application and old passport to the Embassy was much easier and cost effective.
Now we hear a lots of complaints about people not being able to fly to DC for a couple of days because of their immigration status in the US.
We also know that Embassy staffs get commission from hotels in DC when you stay there if you let them know about the purpose of the visit.
Embassy prefers you to stay home and relax, if you agree to send your "eyeball" or 'thumb" securely by mail.
Since Nepal is updating its Electronic passport (e-passport) it requires electronic finger-printing, and facial eye reading for authentication purpose.
Wayat!!!
Nepal Government WAS doing a favor when they had Passport Renewal by mail. Not now after they required everyone to fly to DC to renew passport.
There are lots of other countries who provide services like Mail in Passport Renewal. That's a very very small thing a favor for Nepalese people.
Sexy Sari..you sound like you work at the Embassy. It's a loss for all Nepalese.
