Namaste Sajha Mitra haru,

Posting to help a friend out here who is not so active in social media or Sajha,

He has approved TPS but never applied for Advance Parole. Never felt like leaving a country for any reason at the moment. Now as TPS expiration is set on 01/04/2021 until it gets extended from Court.

His question is
1. Should he apply for Advance Parole Just in case he needs to travel? Only Concern is time length left between now and 01/04/2021 is 5 months. If approved and it's get extended does he need to reapply again?

2. Should he wait until the TPS gets extended and then apply for advance parole?

3. It seems like the time length for applying and getting approved for advanced parole could be from 3 months to 6 months.

Could you please suggest or recommend what would be the best option to do. Complete new and unfamiliar to this TPS

Trying to help someone so that he could have a better future.

Appreciate all your help.

I would recommend him to wait until the extension news is announced! If he still wants to travel before Jan 04,2021 he can still apply and like butternut_squash mentioned he can apply for emergency advance parole.

if he gets approved for Advance parole now and TPS gets extended he will still have to apply for a new one as the travel document doesn't get extended automatically.

I have an advance parole expiring in Jan 2021. I am planning to go to Nepal in October for Dashain and come back. Even though, flights will be resumed then, with all this pandemic and presential election, i am little hesistated. Is there anyone whom sajha user know who travelled to Nepal and come recently. This will be my fourth trip to Nepal in TPS. I never had any issue entering US.
With strict immigration policy for immigrants because of election, i need some thought from fellow users. Thanks in advance !!

Thanks, @Nash24,@butternut & @nepalsahicha squash bro, This dude has a clean record. Never been out of Status.

would you mind sharing some details or shedding a light on how to apply for advance parole in case of an emergency? Currently, he has also no plan to fly until the end of TPS but he was reluctant bcoz if some sort of Emergency happens back home. Then what are his options?

IF In case of Emergency :
I believe the documents he needed at that time would form I-131 and one cheque of $

1. complete and file Form I-131, Application for Travel Document.
2. Have a specific or emergent reason to travel abroad Letter
3. The filing fee for a Reentry Permit is $575
4. Two passport Size Photo
5. TPS approval Notice.

Otherwise, it's better to wait until extension.

Where to File: Can someone provide details on this ??

@nepalsahicha : Some of the link, you might want to check it out before travel.

In case of emergency: I think you can make an appointment with the USCIS center and provide the application along with the proof that it is a real emergency for example hospital notes or such. Remember emergency advance parole is for single entry only while the regular is issued for multiple.

I applied my Ap for multiple entries and it has been very useful! So I'm waiting and hoping that TPS gets extended so that I can apply for AP again and travel to Nepal and some European countries!

I'm based in Texas to I have sent most of my application to Dallas lockbox

@nash24 did you receive multiple AP paper ? Because couple of time when i applied for Multiple, they just sent me just one AP paper. However, it mentioned that is valid for multiple entry.

So can you use same paper of another entry which already have a parole stamp. Don't we need clean AP for another stamp for another entry ? or they will send stamp as paroled in same letter.

Just one Ap and custom and immigration officer stamped on the same AP more than 2 times
