You need to get a letter from a doctor in Nepal that should mention that there is some medical emergency that your immediate family member has and you need to be there for that. This is my personal experience. I got my AP from the field office in couple of hours.

like what @Gmajor said, but you need to verify the relationship as well. If it is in your birth certificate ( dad/mom or granddad/grandmom ) , you can show birth certificate to verify relationship . Otherwise, you can show relationship-verification certificate that your municipality can provide. This is also from my personal experience for advanced parole based on i-485.

One more thing, you if apply for an emergency parole, that would be valid upon the officer's discretion and that might be valid only for a Single or multiple entires. My AP was only valid for 45 days and it was for a single entry only.

I will be happy with 30 days and single entry as well.
By the way should the letter include my name.

@imjagat, the doctor doesn’t need to list the medications or even recommend for you to go, but it is important to include his name, the hospital’s or clinic’s name, and where. Doctor must mention the name of your relative and his or her condition.
