Driving License Renewal for TPS holder

As the Driving License expiration date is related with the TPS / EAD expiration date, how it can be renewed after it expired? Without new dated TPS document, driving motor vehicle office will not renew driving license which is a big issue for all of us. Is there anyone who can suggest on how to get it because without driving license I can't drive my car to go to work?

Since you're an illegal immigrant,

you have a choice to live in one of those States where they issues Federal Govt. non-compliance driver license for driving purpose only to illegal immigrants. There are 12 States they can issues driver license for undocumented immigrants.

For example in Maryland, if you go to MVA with expired June 24th, 2018 driver license, and if you don't have a valid current immigration status like EAD/GC , then they will issue a non compliance driver license for 7 years for $40 fees.

And once you have EAD,you can go back and change to the one you like with Federal compliance driver license and pay another $40 fees with limited expiration date similar to the one on your EAD card.

You can take Federal Register and talk to supervisor in the DMV. Thats what I did and got my license renewed until Dec

As per me I live in Texas. I went to DPS Mega Center in Dallas and they gave me until June 24 2019.

Dmv or Dps will give you licence with exp 24 june 2019. Just take federal register notoce and ur expire DL. In california it took almost 45 days but they issue with couple of phone call to legal presence. In texas they will approve infront of you without call.

I was waiting for my turn to reply to this thread for days now. I got my temporary license today. Last week renew garna gaako, DHS sanga verify garnu parcha bhanyo, and they gave me a USCIS SAVE case number. Finally, tyo case ko kura milyo aaja (after some 4-5 days) and the DMV issued my a license today, a temporary one but they said the plastic/hard copy will be sent in the mail. Btw, I live in one of the western states.

What had I taken to the DMV last week for my license renewal?

-- Federal Register ko notice print-out
-- USCIS ko Nepal TPS designation ko print-out
-- Mero duitai passports (old and new)
-- Existing license
-- TPS EAD
-- TPS apply garya I797-C receipt notice

Some states may not accept Federal Register alone. They will only accept your expired and auto-extended TPS EAD as a basis of license renewal, if you show them the I-797 that you got after applying for the new EAD. They need proof that you have reapplied for a new TPS EAD. You should then be able to get a license until at least Dec 2018 and when your new EAD arrives, apply for another license until June 2019. Just make sure to take your TPS and EAD I-797 notices with you to the DMV.
