If undocumented cash is only the option. If documented, cheque option has wider job opportunity. But you will pay tax. However, you will get the refund while filing tax. You will also get social security points.

you can retire after you accumulate 40 points but you will only start getting the benefit after 65 years of age.

I think for every year you pay social security tax you get 2 points but I am not sure if that is exactly how it works.

The amount needed for a credit in 2016 is $1,260. You can earn a maximum of four credits for any year. The amount needed to earn one credit increases automatically each year when average wages increase. You must earn a certain number of credits to qualify for Social Security benefits.
