SO MANY POSTS, SO MANY VIEWS YET NOONE REPLIES, LEAVES A SUGGESTION OR COMMENTS.

                                       WHY?

Isn't this a public forum where you share your Ideas and suggestions. Please make it sajha.

That's coz people are pussies they don't want their views challenged in any way otherwise they will feel defeated and abused.

I agree with all the arguments above, except for the one user who might be heading a pedophilia racket and is low on inventory of girls, although making it sound like he supports the idea that more female participants are needed in this forum.

Pun aside, this forum might be a model, an accurate sample reflection of our diaspora. People from diverse background come here to ask questions that are common to Nepalis living in US (I am excluding Nepalis living in other countries as I haven't seen many commentaries about Sydney, London, Qatar, Brunei or Singapore). And probably many do not answer because not all questions are relevant to them or that they are not knowledgeable enough to answer, say if it is about a specific area of expertise.

The other thing I observed is that sajha is not as thriving and aspiring a community of diverse and intellectual ideas as it used to be, say circa 2005-2010, probably because of Facebook and Twitter. Basically, I am thinking a community portal, just for ideas and nuances, like this one died out because of other social networking platforms. What's your take on that? I personally do not have a Facebook account so I love coming to sajha; otherwise I have no way of knowing what Jyoti Magar is doing now a days. But sajha is still very useful for other relevant reasons like classifieds and chaiyo. The talks about Travel Companion date sharing portal; that one I missed. I think I read someone had created a Facebook community of Nepalis living in US needing travel companion for their parents.

Lastly, on the point about thriving place where ideas are challenged and shared, this one word has killed it all --> ad hominem. The good news is that, ad hominem, is not unique to merely Nepalis in Sajha website or Nepalis in Kathmandu. The modern world is heading towards that direction. I particularly like Jordan Peterson's opinion about this post modern world view where we are heading towards herd brinkmanship.

Quote

"the postmodernist know exactly what they're doing. This isn't accidental. Of course you shut down speakers you don't agree with because you can't have a dialogue with them anyways. Because human beings can't have dialogue. There's no such thing as a human individual. There's no such thing as truth. Here's the post modern world. Its the Hobbesian Nightmare. Its everyone against everyone else. Except it's not individuals, it's groups. And you're stuck in your damn group....And I can't talk to you because I am in my own little silo of privileged beliefs and besides we can't use logic because that doesn't exist."

Unquote.

By the way, do you guys and girls like the /r/Nepal sub reddit? I like frequenting there as well. Its more for getting into what Kathmandu is thinking on any given day, but by a specific demographics i.e. the Redditors.
