Wanted to learn and make a career into software development, not sure what I learn. It seems that there are two major software development languages : Java and .Net. Not sure which field to choose. I believe this is not easy therefore, Can ideas and recommendations to choose an IT field be shared?

.Interested to make a career in IT though only some courses in IT in Nepal, did masters in Nepal. People are saying go for either Java or .Net because they have the scope and future even though they are very hard but some people are suggesting QA but others are telling hard to get job. Others are telling AWS coz scope.

@tesko_baje,
Dhanyabad, what are the reasons one would go for Java? What would the reasons for .Net? How did you decide and how do you feel about your choice? What is the usual training time for an average person in .Net? How are the pay rate? What is the range of income? Any other experienced can be shared?
