Hello friends in Buffalo,NY!

I will be working as contractor and moving to buffalo within 2-3 weeks . MY office is at downtown. Do I need a car? How is the public transportation?
Can I find Nepali community around? Can i get full furnished apartment on month to month basis near the Nepali community area? What is the average rent for single bed room apartment?
Can my wife get job in beauty parlor?She has good experience!
