I went for H1B Stamping last week to Nepal...
It's ridiculously easy to get stamped right now..
All that I had to present was : I-797 Approval Notice and Approved Labor Copy..
I had whole file of documents ready with me which was not even asked by the consular..
Questions asked to me
1. Where are you going ? -- Phoenix
2. Which company you work for ? -- XYZ
3. What's your position ? -- Software Developer
4. How much you make ?? -- XYZ
5. Where did you complete masters ?? -- SAU, Arkansas
6. What's your degree ?? -- MCIS
Done !!
So I would suggest everyone to go to Nepal for stamping and spend some time with your family as well rather than spending same amount of money and going to Canada or any other 3rd country..
I've list of documents that I got ready as well.. If anyone needs it, I can provide the checklist
Thanks and Good Luck to whoever is planning for stamping soon....
Good to see successful story on sajha threads instead of regular problems, bee-itching about others etc
Congrats SajiloChaLife!!
SajiloChaLife;
Thinks doesn't go that smooth if it's contract position or/and the major doesn't matches.
Prem,
I dont aggree with you on "Thinks doesn't go that smooth if it's contract position ". I did made it on December along with my wife. I had the PIMS issue which made me wait another 1 week but that is not the visa issue. I was asked similar type of questions except below:
VO:Who is your client?
ME:ABC
VO: is there any layer in between?
Me: yes, CDE is prime vendor, check the later from them on file.
VO: what happens if contract ends before 2 years?
Me: Its not going to end before that. It might be extended as we are migrating bla bla bla
Thats it.
I am working on my field of study though.
@SajiloChaLife and @Sajha keto
How did you guys scheduled your H1B interview?
Do you schedule you appointment from US online before leaving for Nepal ? Do you ask someone in Nepal to apply for an appointment for you ?
I did everything online from USA.. The only thing is you need to ask someone in Nepal to pay the application fee in Nepal Investment Bank.. After you do that, you get the code which you use to pick up a date for interview !!
I am going to Nepal in august 23 and have about 20 days. Do u think it is good enough time?
Currently i am working in H1B in university. I have H1b approval notice but dont have labor certification or any other documents with me.
I am little confused about the requirement for H1B visa.
I sent an email to US embassy but seems they dont reply about anything related to VISA.
Could you please give me little more details what i need for H1B visa.
Thanks!
