Certified Nursing Assistant is the full name and depending on state training will be provided by American Red Cross .
One of my relative was working in adult care facility and advise to take this training will be getting at least 1 to 2 dollar per hour more and will help to increase income. Her answer was irrelevant, she did not wanted to break her back , but she was already in the same field working.
Sometimes sincere suggestion were not digested or may be  each person has his / her own adviser & would not go beyond against your adviser.

@Rose Black,
I don't know what kind of advantages you wanted to know so be little specific when asking questions. It is mostly place (city) and hospital type dependent. At my hospital, new CNAs make $1.38/hour more than the state minimum pay. Also, they get about 10 days/year of paid time off when working as a full time employee. Most of my CNAs went through about 8 weeks of training and their job responsibility includes helping patient with toileting (you gottta wipe their ass and balls frequently), making patients bed, passing water and linens, cleaning medical equipments, transporting patients between wards etc. Basically CNA is a cleaning job and there is little to no room for gaining clinical knowledge out of it. Personally, I would choose some other minimum pay jobs than being CNA at anytime of the day. Oh and finally healthcare in USA is not much different than Nepal. As long as you have a degree you can be doing crap and still get away (yes that includes Doctors too).

Job is job and every job is respected equally, you do it  with dignity and no need to look down but we do it  that's  typical Nepali mentality. If you are a manager in McDonald ,  Burger king  you will be cleaning too
.
Well , it may help you for a steady income, if you are interested in and want to move up , you can go for RNA but you have to join nursing classes.
