TPS EAD and VA driving license
It might have been asked a lot of times before but I'm still wondering if anyone has obtained the Virginia driving license using TPS EAD.
Apparently, so many people from Nepal are still waiting for their TPS applications to get approved and I was trying to figure if we can get the VA DL with just the EAD (TPS application status being pending).
Anyone been through similar situation out here and managed to obtain the VA DL?
Thanks in advance!!
You will need TPS approval letter to make ID or driving license. VA state has strict rules in terms of paperwork procedures. All the best.
1. Go to DMV office in Fairoaks mall (Northern Virginia)
2. Stay in line and present your EAD and take written test and obtain Learners permit.
3. Wait for 60 days. Then go to DMV office. Take road test and get drivers license. That's it. I did this way.
4. I also got Social security number presenting EAD. These all are simple process. Don't listen to people. Just do it.

Thanks Micky mouse. That was some really helpful information.
MICKYmouse,
You sound very easy to make VA ID. fair oaks mall DMV don't require bank statement , physical address, passport. That's very easy. Will inform other people too to go to Fairoaks mall.
Brk,
Let me know how you make ID OR LICENSE with just EAD card.
1. First of all, go to Social Security office and apply for SSN. You will get it in few days.
2. If you have bank statement then that's good. If not, open account and get statement.
3. Use your current address in DMV. Present the bank statement if they ask.
Then do the rest of the steps I mentioned above. I didn't have any problem in this entire process. Now I am working with my EAD and SSN.
I'm hoping to get my DL instead of Leraners Permit and I do have all other supporting documents (Ssn, other proof of residence, and an expired DL). Let's see how it turns out when I apply today. I will keep you guys posted.

You want to try your luck at Fair Oaks Mall DMV. They might check your EAD validity through Richmond office. This location is extremely busy on weekends. I suggest you go on any weekdays. Good luck!
