H1B Stamping: Decision is on hold due to PIMS association
Hi Frenz,
We (my wife and myself) had an interview at Kathmandu consulate today. After having several questions/answers, consular told us that the decision is on hold. When I asked the reason, She said that she is not able to see my petition online. She further said that she is not sure how long does it take but she hopes that it may take 1 week or so. I have the return ticket on 2nd Jan which I told her too and she just told me to transfer the ticket if possible to be in safe side.
Then She gave me a paper (pink color) which says: "Your visa is refused under 221(g)........" with additional information "PIMS association." The paper has mentioned to check the status online which I did and found below while checking online:
"
U.S. Department of State
NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Administrative Processing
Application ID or Case Number: ...............
Case Creation Date: 23-Dec-2015
Status Updated Date: 28-Dec-2015
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days
"
Now, I am in trouble as I have the return ticket for 2nd Jan. Had anyone gone through same situation? If yes, how long does it take to resolve and give the decision? Based on that, I can cancel/transfer the ticket. Serious suggestions please.
Thanks
I would email KCC for verification ...Also involve a lawyer and tell them to get in touch with KCC and get updates for you.
Don't forget to update us after you get the stamping.
HI,

Desperately waiting but haven't heard back anything. Not sure what I need to do next at this moment
@whatajoke,
Can you please let me know what did you in between? I mean did you ask any letter/documents from employer, any follow up with consulate or anything?
This is really frustrating time I have ever faced
Sajha keto,
For me my return ticket was on 14th Nov 2015 so it did not effect at all. The same way I searched on the forum and it was kind a relief Bcoz somebody posted the same way i did to you. so trust me you will make it.
Sajha Keto,
I was working directly to the company related to my field. I talk to my employer, they contacted to attorney and whatever attorney told me was frustrating. But my employer was helpful. I am the only one H1b employee with 800 employee at all.
I had to wait for a month an half and had to give interview twice. It can take any amount of time. There is nothing you can do except wait.
Hi All,
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.....my visa issued today and got an email asking to collect the documents at NIBL Bank (Which I had selected while appointment was taken).
Does anyone knows about labor department process here in Nepal? I heard that there is a thread in sajha regarding that but I was not able to find it.
Congrats Sajha Keto,
Below are some threads and info regarding letters from labor ministry...
They are little old, but I think they are still relevant.

yedi shrma patra chhaina bhane alikati paisa kholtima raakhnu...chalchha..ke garni yesteai chha yeha
I said I am on F1 visa. They won't know.
Craigliststudent,
I am planning to go solteemode on Sunday. I am not sure what documents do I need but I think if we have offer letter then we have to give 3/400 to broker who manages all. Planning to do that. Ping me your no if you wanna go for the same day.
@Sajha Keto: My application status shows as 'Admin Processing' since Jan 12 :(
Thanks for checking. If possible, kindly share your experience there. Congrats on your approval and good luck for your travel.

Guys,
I got permit from labor department. I went soltimode at about 1:00 PM and met broker (you will find such people when you turn towards Bafal from Soltimode). I paid 1800 to broker who did all paper work (according to him: insurance policy+documentation+service charge:1400+200+200 respectively). After that, went to baidesik rojgar bhavag (around 500 meter from soltemode chowk towards Bafal). I had to wait in queue for about 2 hrs and got the permit sticker on my passport.
That is the end of story.
Craigliststudent,
I got mine in 10 days. I think it depends on each case, you may see positive result by this week.
Good Luck
Thank you @Sajha keto for sharing your experience. Safe travels now! :)
