Hi Friends,
Need you help and suggestion i am little confused and worried. Someone might say this is not the best place to state the problem but i have found in many instance with other threads, this site and Sajha exports has been helpful so hoping for a good advise as i put forward my situation. My marriage is not going right and we been fighting everyday for no reason. I guess it is something to do with difference in thinking. I wont say i am perfect but nobody is and it is not going well. I used to have feelings for her but i don't have it anymore. I am and willing to compromise but i tried for a while and it is not helping. Now i am tired and frustrated so at this point, is it good idea to separate or stay together and try to work out which is not happening as seen in many case. WE are not finding the common ground. Also is divorcing is good idea and what is the pros and cons with that except the emotional breaks down. What is the financial impacts and immigration status changes since i was sponsored by her, how long the process is, can you please advise, you advise will be very appreciated..

what do you mean by, she sponsored you? did you get GC from her status? what is your staturs now, are you in GC or any other dependent Status?

what is the cause of all these relations ups n downs?

all things need to consider before analyzing what is the best thing to do.

Since you need to have been a permanent resident for 3 years before you can apply for citizenship and the citizenship application process itself can take months, the divorce will jeopardize your status. To get citizenship through her you need to be married to her for another 18 months or so. Do you realize that?

Have you tried marriage counseling?

If nothing else works, TPS is always there but the deadline for application is coming soon. So, you need to make up your mind soon.

U got what u asked for. Marrying For wrong reasons. infact, on anything in life, doing it for wrong reasons always leads to failure. Aba GC kai lagi bihe garyau, wait till provisional status on ur GC is gone.
Now there is TPS, may be u r having second thoughts. I have seen many in ur situation, GC ko lagi ankha bandha garera bihe garne. Aba arko kehi samaya samma ko lagi ankha bandhai rakha. Be a slave if u have to. Think abt ur destination and forget abt the journey. !!!

Out of curiosity, did you start not having feelings towards her right after getting your GC or before that?

goodmanNepal Bro,
Try skipping few nights to be sure ,, if you both miss one another or not, and the other part as long as you entered the marriage in good faith than no worries. Good luck.

what is the code on your green card? If it starts with "c" then it is a conditional green card. Marriage based green cards are normally conditional. Conditional green cards have shorter expiration dates, two years I believe. If it has been two years since your green card was issued, you must have applied for a replacement.

This new green card generally has a 10 year expiration date. If you have already received this then you can do whatever you want. Your marriage is irrelevant.

As far as citizenship is concerned, yes you can apply after being married to a US citizen for three years but you can also apply after being a PR for five years. It will take two more years to get a citizenship. So I don't see how that's relevant unless you are planning to apply for government jobs(USPS, ...., Office of the President. ;) or work in classified projects.

Thank you all for you great suggestion, [Disallowed String for - Advertising not allowed]iko the docs helps and thank you for the suggestion.
dctroll, GC is valid for 10 years and not sure what is the code and where can i find in the card ?
Bairaghi, i completely agree, but situation and circumstances make us to choose the path or make a decision which can be best at the moment but who knows what lies in future
i had married for good faith and was't excepting this at all. Everybody wants good life, happy marriage and good family. Nobody wants to go through all these but sometimes it mightn't work and not everybody is lucky. Any thoughts on financial impacts ? property distribution ?

Thanks in advance

This is common problem in the marriage where a wife sponsors her husband for GC. The problem is not with either of you but most probably psychological in nature. I would suggest you to understand that there is a problem and go see a marriage counselor.

I hope there is no external factors like affairs, money etc. Coming from a male dominated society from Nepal, it doesn't work when women have upper hand in the arrangement (relationships or marriage); no offense to anyone, I would like to use a common term used in technology: the master - slave configurations works all the time.
