Can anybody explain me what are the demands of the Madhesh people and why the government is not considering their demands while writing the constitution? What is the unrest in Terai for? Thought they were getting Madhesh province or state? What they are fighting for ? Can anybody enlighten me?
If you stop an andolankari in the street and ask them your question, i doubt they will have any answer for you.
How foresighted were Maoist? Did China followed this ?

30-40 years from now Nepal will be limited to Hilly regions, no pahadi poeple can stay in Tarai but without Madhise we will not survive.
Just a simple question , " how is a poor marginalized Pahadi person has better advantage over fellow poor marginalized Terai person?
Do not get upset with my answer: you have no idea about Politics and I think you are talking about those madhise you have seen in Kathmandu.
Did you read that thread: How we distributed Nepali citizens to Indians? Shame on Nepal government who discarded Bhutani Nepali ( Who loved Nepal and will be no harm giving them Citizenship ). Here we are not talking about true indigenous tarai people but the New Tarai baasi who recently become Nepali are taking advantage of it and we should be worry about it.

While I do not like what is going on, but I guess part of it is because of how we kathmanduites ONLY CONSIDERED OURSELVES Nepali when we resented driving beyond dhulikhel and naubise, considered tibetans in solukhumbu and manang as Nepalese but considered tharus and 'marsiyas' as dhotis. Prithivinarayan shah and the subsequent kings only catered to the demand of thakuris and councillors, promoted the culture of kamaiya in western Nepal until late. So what can we expect out of them?
It's for showing power as well adding favorable terms and condition on Constitution to secure ( that may not be good for as a whole Nepal)
As far as I know,
1)Upendra Yadav wants: Ek Madesh Ek Pradesh. (The entire Terai range as one single province known as Madesh)
2) Tharu people want: Tharu Province
3) Limbuwan want: Limbuwan Province
4) Magarat want: Magarat Province
5) Newa wants: All Kathmandu as Newa Province
I wonder why are all the Bahuns and Chettris not demanding their own Brahmin Province and Kshatriya Province? Why are they silent?

So they want better representation in the parliament by craeating bigger Madhesh region.

Great discission. Adding my POV as well.
I was talking to my Dad yesterday. He is retired and we live in a Terai town. Indian border is 2 km from my parents' house.
They recently did some construction / renovation and all the Mistrys and Johns were from villages in Bihar that are at least 20 km south. They all rode in bicycles for 2 hours to come for the job. My point is not about why these Indians are coming and stealing Nepali jobs. Point is unfortunately Bihar and UP have not shared any prospect of the rising India. Bihar and UP are gloom and doom. Culturally, there are huge gaps. Education wise, both Bihar and UP governments have done worst. Even worst, both Bihar and UP lack jobs. The only good jobs in those areas are State or Govt Jobs which are taken by the advantageous class ( remember Bihar, UP = Issues with class, culture, caste, lack of infrastructure etc). So the sore is a real sore. All the Narendra Modis' utopian rehoteric have not made any dent in reforming Bihar. Those Johns and Mistrys that came to work at my parents house were dirt poor and when asked by my Dad about why don't they find something in India itself, they said there are no jobs in their villages and nearby towns. Nepal was a heaven in that sense.
With such a huge sore in the neighboring open border India, Nepal can never progress. Any development issues and progressive policies have to address all Bihar, UP and Southern Nepal. Since we hate them and not only that but in actuality both UP and Bihar are unhelpable disease, that is why IMO a true development objective will be hard to accomplish.
