I just got married and need to process my green card through my spouse who is currently a gc holder. Can anyone help me with the process? please help me where should i begin.
Thank you !!
What is your visa status, if you are F1 then call a lawyer and its a simple process, there are 2 forms
i got the petition form done, im trying to file i485. Im curious if i need to show sponsorship to my spouse or not. I dont have a lawyer Im doing everything by myself. any help could b appreciated.
thanks
Sis u already apply i130? U cannot file i485 now since the priority date will not be current for a gc holder's spouse. Wait time is probably 1.7 years before u can file i485 .
Sis.... Lol, typo for Did.
How long does it take to get the EAD or GC after getting married to GC holder.(F1 married to GC Holder)?
Any inputs from the person who have gone through the process will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
It will take around 1.7 to 2 years to get the EAD or GC
Thanks Thin beast.
I was trying to figure out the time frame, and found out mixed interpretations.
I have one more querry.
How long does he/she need to maintain the F1 status on the process?
Thank you again.
You need to maintain the F1 status till you file i485..you need to wait for ur PD to be current to file it
correct me If i am wrong - GC will be a conditional GC. isn't that right?
@mero_naam_ho - I believe one of the condition for a conditional GC is for those applicants whose I485 get approved within 2 yrs of their marriage.
oh so that means if someone's gc get approved after two years of marriage then it won't be a conditional GC at all..
My priority date is almost current.i want to get my form ready till then. I'm still confused if I have to show sponsorship.please help
What is ur PD Jimi_paudel? I think we need to show sponsorship
my spouse has been living in US for years now. I was going through the instruction it says that i need to fill the sponsorship form if the spouse is coming from outside US, but then again when i continue to read i got confused.
