In simplest term, Test case is a documentation on how you are going to test the software. You would have your requirements/use case/user stories etc. depending on the SDLC your organization is using. Then there is the expected results. If the expected results is the same as your requirements, you can mark it as pass. People add other attributes such as test data, positive scenario, negative scenario and bunch of other attributes depending on the complexity /requirement of the SUT( Software Under Test).

Best thing to do is ask for the sample document or company standard documents. Use those document example to create your test plan.
If not then ask what are they expecting in the Test Plan?
Note down their expectations.
Find one sample from the internet and use it.

@dhoti_prasad- Sorry, didn't do what u did but whats wrong in asking help?
@beats/ gone crazy--i have idea on how to do it but what you do when you have limitations/restrictions/exclusion for the single benefit?
SajhaQA, I don't mean to be rude but isn't Test Cases some of the basics that is covered in the QA trainings by consultancies?
Like suggested, ask for a template or sample/existing text case document in your project saying that 'you would to align your test case with the format & structure being used for the project'. Also, tons of info on web, YouTube tutorials etc.
Good Luck!
You can create new scenario for each or you can add new steps for various scenario. Its upto you how you want. Depends upon the test case, if its long I would create a new scenario but if it is short then I would use one scenario and different test steps.
Likewise ask for the sample documents and see how others have done.
Sajhaqa,
I am going to use ur thread for my purpose as well hai.

writing test cases in QA is a basic things that you should know. In the beginning you ll feel so hard but once you know what the flow of you project and if you have an idea what to test then you can easily write Test cases without any ones help.
To make it simple, someone gave you an apple and you have to verify whether that is an apple or not. Make a points what you ll test in that apple. Those list are test cases.
Everyone struggles in the beginning. I am sure there must be some sample test cases or close to it saved in company's SharePoint site. Do not afraid to ask your colleague even experienced Tester go through similar circumstances while switching from one industry to another. If you really want to be a tester give your 100% effort, do not count hours to get out from office. Best of Luck
