Enfield Cafe Racer's maintenance costs should not be much different than those of other RE's. The core engine architecture is the same as other 'modern bullets'; possibly some of the parts are a bit expensive given the model is new and importers know they can make more profits on newer stuff!

I saw a bunch of RE repair/maintenance shops around Ravibhawan last time I was in KTM. Pretty sure there are many more, so availability should not be a concern as long as you are determined to ride the cafe.

For the actual cafe experience with style, power, and reliability, Moto Guzzi v7 would be an amazing little machine to ride in Kathmandu. Another one would be the thruxton that carries triumph's legacy, and is lot more comfortable than its counterparts.

Apart from the import and maintenance costs, these would be some solid 2-wheelers to own and ride. :-)

For me, I dream of riding an Indian Chief someday in Nepal.. :D

Saajha, here's a ducati that a buddy had recommended as it'd most likely "turn many heads around". http://hamrobazaar.com/detail.php?siteid=406316

I'm not really looking for something in that price range and I don't need to show-off. This most likely rules out Moto guzzi r7, too albeit the model is sick, and definitely an upgrade over RE-Cafe Racer. It makes little/no sense purchasing such heavy-duty bike in Nepal.

Thanks for your feedback.

I suppose we don't really have many sajha users residing in Nepal.

wish i could help you bro but like you said most people here are living in the US as seen in the flag counter.

on a different note, did you figure out the situation for PR to stay more than 2 years in Nepal, as you were asking in a different thread.

Hey Kaji Sahab,

Yes. Applying for Re-entry seems like a way to go to live outside the US for an extended period (upto 2 years). You can only apply for it twice, though.
