Someone here looks newbie in football predicting netherland in the semis. They need a miracle to pass through group stage from the group consisting DC Spain, La Roja, and in form Chile, La Rojita Furia. IDK about other three teams but Spain/Argentina will be in semis for sure, predicting them to encounter in QF. Winner #1 Brazil unless they come across France, Winner #2 Spain if they beat Argentina in QF. Hala Espana !!!
I would bet my money on Belgium beating Portugal and Argentina on round of 16s and Quarters.....but the winner is Of course; Brazil....

I don't know who is gonna win, but am sure, Brazil aint gonna win this time.
Considering the Hot temperature in South America , It would be difficult for a European team to win the world cup. So i think it would be one of the south american team. Although I am a die hard Italian Fan.
I think Brazil, Argentina and possibly Uruguay are favourites.
From Europe, Germany is the best team. But their lack of proper striker might hurt. Although they have solid and attacking mid field.
Spain and italy reached semi finals of the Confederations cup in Brazil in 2013 but lost to Brazil and Uruguay. Spain lost easily however, italy lost on penalties. No one can ignore these heavyweights.
Underdogs are Netherlands, Belgium, Chile,Portugal and Columbia.
Look at the result of UEFA competitions this year. Both spanish teams played in CL final and Sevilla won europa league. This shows the strength of Spanish football. Stating Germany is the best team in europe is lack of proper football knowledge. Spain is the best team in the world right now PERIOD. That confederation cup means nothing, and FYI the team that won Confederation cup has never won world cup in following year. Remember, Spain lost to USA in 2009 Confederation cup and snatched WC in 2010. Spain can present two worldclass teams to contest for WC final. Players like Gabi, Isco, Carvajal, Raul Garcia did not make to the WC team, Imagine how strong would be their depth..HALA ESPANA !!
no_quiero you are partially right about the hot temperature of brazil this summer being a hurdle for european teams. But, Mediterraneans like Spain and Italy would cope with that more easily than some of their european counterparts

Being the best team doesn't mean they gonna win the WC. May be but who knows. Thats why they are playing world cup else they would have given the trophy based on fifa rankings. And please Avoid bringing club statistics when it comes to WC coz all those players whom you mentioned (Gabi, Isco, Carvajal, Raul Garcia) who didn't make to WC, played in the CL finals.
I think their strikers are one of the weakest among the contenders. Costa's fitness is unsure. Villa n Pedro are mediocre and forget abt Torres.
I nowhere said Spain are going to win WC LOL!! I am just showing some facts Germany are not best team in europe. FYI: Spain won euro in 2012 without a striker.

It's just Torres so I did not count him...lol!!! He was beast in Euro 08 though.

I stated Germany are the best team in Europe has nothing to do with ranking or Champions league results. I am an italian fan and would easily have said italy is the best.
The fact that Real madrid has two players in Ronaldo and Bale who scored over 70 goals in a season in all competition hardly mean spain is the best team in Europe. Athletico madrid to their credit is not the best team individually. Talent wise they are nowhere near Barcelona, madrid or Bayern Munich. They have a very shrewd coach in Simone and it is his man management who made Athletico tick. We also know the crux of Spanish team used to be Barcelona in the past. But Barcelona arn't as good now as they were few years ago.
Now, the reason i said Germany are the best team is I looked their players individually. 4 years ago when Germany played world cup and came third,they played with very young and inexperienced team. Spanish team at that time were just past at its peak. 4 years on, Spain team has aged and arn't good as they were 4 years ago ( Still better than most though).
Most of the players in German team is at the right age. Although injury to striker might hurt them. But they are full of attacking midfielder. Lets see what happens.
How is Spain an aging squad? Besides Xavi and Xabi Alonso every other player is 22-28 and Iniesta is just 30 at his prime. Torres and Villa are the other players that are considered old. So 4 out of 23 players and 2 of them are on pretty much on the bench. That is not old. I would say its a squad rich in experience, youth and players in their prime. A perfect squad. Let's not forget how many extremely talented youngsters that won U21 and U19 European championships that didn't even make the squad along with players like Navas, llorente, Negredo etc. even without them Spain still has the deepest and most talented squad in the world
I have been supporting ARGENTINA since 1990, but F**k it not this time, I am done rooting for that team.
