I check my mail
religiously 3-5 times a day. The ones on
Facebook are also included. My friends feel that sending a message on FB is
more effective and quick than emailing. The best part is when it shows that the
message had been seen, there is no escape. Sort of like that concept. Blame it on
technology, sometimes at work, we even send email from one cubical to another just
coz we don’t wanna move around.
I heard that these days
there are a lot of spam going on Facebook. The last funny incident about spam I
heard, was one of my friend clicking on some link which said there are few nude
pictures and the next thing is his mum calling him up all the way from Nepal and
yelling for sending her such links ( I am sure some of you have been there).
Anyway, I had a bad experience with spam where I lost all my emails, and
since then I don’t ever click on any link regardless of how enticing it looks
:D.
So, I didn’t know that
there is another inbox called “Other” on Facebook than the regular Inbox. Never
bothered to check it… EVER. The other day I was trying to delete few things
from my FB Inbox when I realized there is this OTHER Inbox that exists. So I clicked
on it.
I got a message from a
US Marine ( I have no idea who he is and I swear I don’t have anyone in the
Marines that I know of). He sent a message saying he is in the Gulf Country and
he is looking for a friend to talk to and share interest with. I wonder from
which angle do I look like that I CARE. Dang! Deleted.
The second one came
from someone I don’t know from Dhangadi, and she asked me if I can help her
financially. She promised me that she will return the money once she will earn
it back. OKK!! From where do they get my FB?? Coz I have such strong privacy
setting and still they can penetrate it? Strange. Anyway Deleted.
The last one just got into my nerves. The message was like
this :- Hi This is Sunil ( Name changed for privacy reason). We
met 10 years back on the phone and I was working in a call center if u
remember.... I was posted to India and is currently in Kathmandu...Hope you are
doing great...Always wishing your good luck.... Why in the world
he thought I would care to talk to him after so many years. What an
overconfident prick to dare to write to me after so many years……Why am I pissed?
……Well this guy yelled at me coz I didn’t call him back once. And said that he doesn’t
want to talk to me like forever.
I was really tempted to write a long reply to his daring
message, where I wanted to swear right and left, insult him, ask him how dare
he tried to contact me.....But I remembered the line from the book “ The Count
of Monte Cristo” by Alexender Dumas ( a recommended book by Ambrosia J…)….. Revenge is the dish best served cold……Hence I didn’t bother to reply….And the best part is FB
shows him that I have seen the message *EVIL LAUGHTER*
