After so long,Nepal has finally triumphed a win over its arch- rival India in SAFF championship games today. The game was neck- to -neck till the half time with both side playing competitively, but Anil gurung's rebound shot and Jumanu rai's wonderful cross made Indian team silent.Nepal, playing a high-class game, managed to control its game from second half and charged two goals straight to Indian side which was unaware of Nepal's counter and was left dismayed by a wonderful performance by Nepali players. The housefull stadium erupted in a a joy as Nepali team gave a double blow to its rivals and snatched  a win.A final consolation goal did came from Indian side at the end of the game but to no avail.Nepal reached semi-final of the Championship  with this win and is all ready to keep the trophy at home turf.GL.

Excellent game by Nepal. This was a decisive win against India. However, there is still tough work to be done. Most likely Nepal will face Afganistan on semi final or Maldives. They both are good teams. There is a slim chance that Nepal and India meet again in Final if India wins agains Maldives or Afganistan. Beating India twice would be a double whammy, to prove that we have clearly become better this year.

I don't understand the point of starting multiple threads for same subject.

But anyways, yeah, a great win for Nepal. Nepal will certainly face Afganistan on Semis and will play against Maldives in Final, unless India wakes up and beats Maldives. I wouldn't call it a slamming of India. We won, and we deserved to win. let's go win the championship.

Afghanistan won't be an easy opponent but home support will most likely play a pivotal role in helping us reaching the final. Hopefully, we'll make it to the final.

It's just a win, don't have to be much excited, Nepal needs a performance of wining game by 5-6 goals easily atleast with any south Asian countries to be a giant and unique team. I am seeing Maldives as being terrific. Lets see what will happen in coming games. Cheers to all anyways.

For me,its a decleration of Nepal's winning attitude towards our neighbouring Indians and beyond. From now on,they might ponder a bit ,while passing petrol and gas to Nepal or ruminate for a minute  before capturing Nepal's land. This game can unknowingly  help Nepal's GDP,its upcoming election and a prize before the Dashain vacation,if you understand what I mean. The whole country has merged into this game and what else we have got to celebrate as a Nepali as we  already kicked out our King and changed our national anthem? The main thing is not to discuss about  our extant rickety bridges but to  talk about new  bridges that are going to be made in the white waters of Nepal.

As a Nepali football fan, this has been the most uplifting moment ever since we reached the final of Saff '99. Our performances in yesteryears have been quite embarrassing. Thusly, each of us is entitled to feel psyched following our win over S. Asian powerhouses like India.

Regardless of outcomes in forthcoming days - semis and hopefully, the final included, upon reflection, we'll have played quite impressive football under the new manager. Personally, I've never been a fan of long balls being played to our strikers due to their statures, but even then, we've managed to score some crucial goals. Also, Rohit Chand being deployed as a midfielder as opposed to defender under Roberts' tenure has been a stroke of genius.

Winning the tournament won't appear that significant in terms of International Football standards, but the momentum we'll be gaining will be quite superb.
