Hey people, Are there any lawyers who provide free advice regarding immigration matters.

I am a US Citizen. I am trying to bring my brother who is under 21. Is there any way I can bring hime sooner. Educated  and experienced feedback is appreciated.

Thank you
MSA

If you apply today, he will not get his greencard until at least 2020. I know this because I am in the same boat. My brother applied for mine back in 2007 and I still have not received it. Lawyers say it takes around 10 years. The priority date for sibling category is currently 2003. Meaning right now they are processing applications filed back in 2003.

Search for "immigration lawer" in google and email them. Some may provide free email advice to a few questions.

Wasn't there a news recently, even few Sajha posts saying the dates have considerably moved up to current?

i'm Not an expert nor I'm famaliar with similar cases, But both reply above forgot to relaize that your brother is under 21. There is something different for under 21 and unmarried, but not through you.

the way I see is that you can apply for your parents and they can apply for your brother. This seems to be a faster route.
DOnt know if your parents have to wait until they become citizen or they can apply while they have greencard.

Also, I dont know if you can apply simultaneously as a derivative for your brother while applying for your parents since he is under 21 and still under the support of your parents.

No matter what- this is much faster and better than you applying. Not sure how old is your brother. But there is a provision in the process (not sure the name) that while filing if your brother is under 21 and later on if he turns 21 during the process, they are still considered under 21.

If I were you I would spend some $$$ on initial consutation with immigration layer; its worth spending 50-75 $s for 30 mins on your case. Thanks,

The news was about greencard holder applying for their spouses. the date is current, instead of waiting for 2-4 years, they can file I-130 and 485 together if they are alreday here, else they can file for 485 if approved i-130 and they are doing consular processing. This is similar to whathappened in Jan/Feb of 2010 where greencard spouses date become current for just under 1 month. This will be similar and within few months it will be backlogged.
Nothing has changed otherwise in other category, except Some country EB2 has moved by 4 years like India and Nepal EB3 has moved by few years.

MSA, your case is different.
