Hi There!
Can some friends from finance/money-managing fields shed some light on what Roth IRA is and what are some of the areas that a newbie can get into. I want to start investing for the future but have no knowledge about this field. I opened an IRA account last week but don't know what to do next. There are just so many options that I don't really know what to select or do. I will be grateful for some serious advice. Thank you in advance.

I have used vanguard and selected age based retirement model and account. It was very user friendly.
@Kailoketa - If you can contribute some towards IRA that can be tax deductable . What i have heard is also you can move your 401 K and invest it towards Roth IRA which has many options than your Employer has . If you are paying tax ( while doing tax ) before 15th april you can put contribute so you can pay less tax on that sump of money you invested towards IRA . Invest in gold rather than IRA from my view while gold are very low right now .
Unlike contribution towards traditional IRA contribution towards Roth IRA is NOT tax deductible. This is one of many differences between traditional and Roth IRA .
thank you yuvaraj and pk for ur valuable comments. i am doing a bit of research this week and hope to reach a conclusion about my elections soon.
