I have been rhyming since this morning. So here it goes.....

छोरीलाई भेट्न भनी बा-आमा अमेरीका आको
बा-आमा आको बेला हामी घुम्न गाको
घुम्दा घुम्दै आमा बाटैमा लखतरान भाको
ल जाउँ त होटेल भनी हामी फर्किन लाको

यत्तिकैमा आमाले भन्नु भो-
केही खाइ वोरी जाउँ
हुन्छ! भनेर मैले खोजे खाने ठाउँ
रेसटुरेन्टमा छिर्दा ङ्च्छ हाँस्यो साहु
के बिधी पिरो हो! कूक त रैछ राहु

टिप्स दिन मन थेन तै पनि दिएँ

मन नलागेको काम पहिले पनि गरेको थिएँ
निस्किनु अघी एक गिलास पानी फेरी पिएँ
होटेलमा फर्किनलाई एउटा ट्याक्सी लिएँ

लुगा सुगा फेरी वोरी टिभी हेर्न थालियो
एत्तिकैमा बा ट्वैलेट जानुभो
एक्लै गको भए हुन्थ्यो रिमोट पनि लानुभो

ए बा! ट्वैलेटमा रिमोट किन लगेको भनेर बाहिरै बाट कराएँ
आमाको पेट कराको सुनेर त मैं डराएँ

रातभरी बा-आमा पालै पालो गरे
नयाँ ठाउँको होटेलमा झन्डै थला परे

ग्याटोरेटको ब्यबस्ता त मैले आँफै गरें
तर बुढा बुढीको इन्सुरेन्स छैन

अब के गर्ने हरे!

रात रहे पछी अग्राख फेरी पलायो
रातभरीको धमाधमले बा-आमालाई गलायो

अमेरिकाको खाना पनि यस्तो रे आमा झर्किनुभो
म त सक्दिन घुम्नसुम्न भन्दै उता फर्किनुभो

घरै जाम न त अब भनी हामी फर्कियौं
बाटोमा रेस्टुरेन्ट देख्ने बित्तिकै तर्कियौं

घर पुग्ने बित्तिकै जाउलो पकार खाइयो
त्यै जाउलोमा सबै खुशी पाइयो ।

Oh come on! Take it for what it is. Also, if you are going to bring this up, did your Ph.D. professors not teach you to avoid using "the" before "elementary school"?
