It has been years since I visited Nepal and I guess that a lot of things have changed after the second revolution couple of years ago. Have Nepali restaurants started serving beef products openly in Kathmandu? Reason asking is, I regularly read Nepalitimes.com and on their "Someplace Else" section which features reviews of restaurants in Kathmandu, mentions beef entrees available on the menu.

I know that Nepal has moved to being a Federal state but has the constitution changed as well? I know it was a crime under the constitution of 2047 BS to salughter cows. So what rule is Nepal being ruled under currently?

People who have visited Nepal recently and eaten at restaurants can chime about the issue of beef products available there.

and what is the big deal about serving beef? if your religion prohibits it then don't eat it. Others would like to have it.

I was In Isrsael a jewish country by constitution. Jewish dont eat pork. Minority are muslims in Israel Muslims also dont eat pork but in market you can buy pork
why
because christians also live in Israel, Russian jews they also eat pork so to serve them pork is avaiulable in market.

I was in Malaysia , a muslim country by constitution but in market you can buy pork
why
because chines do live in malaysia which are either christians or budhhist or taoist or atheist they eat pork so to serve them pork is avilable.

In Petlaing Jaya Province of Malaysia where the Capital is , nearby the place where I lived there was a open place like the size of ktm Tudikhel , they called it food square where there used to be about 200 resturents (food stalls) at night time . I used to go there for dinner I was surprised to see that in that food square some rsturants were serving beef, some pork. muslims , christinas and hindus all visit that place for dinner.

In ktm too I remember finding beef in so called supermarkets arround  2050. It was imported from Switzerland and the label read "Rindfleish", a german word for beef.

To be fair to the chicken and goat, i do eat beef sometimes. Never at home but at MacDonalds. But I have really cut down a lot on my meat to twice a week. I think it is cruel to kill animals for food. This is my biggest challenge to myself. To become a vegetarian soon.
