How to dial US 800 number from Nepal
So I am traveling to kathmandu for a couple of weeks and would like to be able to stay connected to my work in US, specially dial into meetings/teleconferences using the toll-free 800 numbers. Since the US 800 numbers are toll free, I am hoping there is a way to dial them from ktm landlines without needing an expensive ISD international calling.
Has anyone tried calling an 800 number from your house in Nepal? Are there other ways to make the connection (gmail phone)?
just use a google number .. it works fine :) i have been using it anddont have any issues with it
How would I use a google number..can you elaborate a bit please?
well if you have a google number you can either use it via web browser or a smar phone app.. You can text or talk like a normal phone.. All you need is a good internet connection.. im assuming since you are working from here,, you would have a good internet connection
I believe you can call toll free number from Skype for free.

just log into you gmail.(if you dont have gmail account, sign up for one. its super easy)
there is going to be a telephone icon under COMPOSE and other functions list on the left hand side of your screen. just click that icon and dial any number inside usa. its free. enjoy!
