1. they will ask you about your legal status, i assume you have green card. if not they might have other provisions which im not aware of.
2.they wiill do your aptitude test at the recruiting station that basically comprises of general knowledge regarding your ability to comprehend english which consists of writing as well. you will be tested on basic mathematics, science, automotive, mechanical, electrical stuffs. i didnt know anything about last three yet, i scored pretty descent to work for military. you can get study materia via internet. JUST GOOGE ASVAB. it will guide you through to help you prepare for.
3. you will have to take another test at MEPS( military entrance processing station) just advance form of the one that you will be tested on at recruiting station. your score at meps determines the job you will be qualified for.
4.after that they will monitor your health condition... people with major fractures and surgeries , transplants, stds, and cronic illness are the major ones that they will try to avoid recruiting.
5. if you have tatoos symbolizing gang affiliation, drugs usuage, or those with profanity may not be able to enlist. i heard some people get drug waived but im not sure what kind as i never did that shit in my life..
this is what i can tell you based on my own experience. good luck brother if im not mistaken...
Thanks a lot for sharing the information, chrome01. I really appreciate it. btw which is better? active duty or reserve?
