Flight to Nepal via Shanghai/Kunning
Does anyone have experiences (good or bad) flying to Nepal from USA via Shanghai and Kunning using China Eastern Airline?
thanks
Why would anybody have any bad experience flying that route?
Middle East - KTM is a different story. I remember
"Rajan loves Sabita" imprinted at the back of a seat during my Flight to KTM from Dubai. I've never been as embarrassed as I was during that flight. Fellow passengers harrassing air hostesses, speaking in a rude manner and what not. At one point, I thought I had boarded sajha bus.
Agree with you riddle bro. That last flight from Doha to Ktm was a nightmare. People screaming at each other and at the hostesses. Luckily, I didn't have to sit next to one of those barbarians. Still embarrassing though.
Thanks guys
No idea about Shanghai, but I flew via Beijing in last February, and I enjoyed it. Experience was not really comparable to other good Asian airports like in Japan, HK or Singapore but definitely better than all the US airports I have seen. Airport people were professional, service was good, and there were every amenities you would look for. If you are interested, you may take a flight next day, and see around Shanghai. Visa is $30 and I spent less than $200 in taxi, train, food, hotel and seeing around Beijing during my 24 hr transit.
thanks for the tips.. is visa available on arrival?
Bhunte, I too am curious to know about this as the return fare to Kathmandu is comparatively cheaoer (around $1200) . But the transit time is really long- almost 24 hrs.
I got the visa in the US before travel. Every major city has a Chinese consulate.
So you will spend less on ticket and spend on shopping.
