After i got H1B extension petition i came back to Nepal for a month. When i had my 1st H1B petition and come to Nepal i had to go to SHRAM BHIVHAG for the stamp and all after getting H1B visa. I was wondering if i need to go to SHRAM BHIVHAG again and do the whole nine yards? Thank you for suggestions.

Why do you have to go to Shram Bivag for stamping. I think you get stamp from the US Embassy. Please make clear.

neerman - u r getting confused. Visa stamping is done @ Embassy. But after visa, there is another process @ 'Shram Bivag'. I did mine @ Baneshowr. Basically it's a permission from Nepal gov to work outside in another country. This is not absolutely required, But I have heard ppl having issues @ airport for this.

poon-hill, I had the same question few months back and may be you can search my thread. I am going for stamping too soon.
You know the sticker that they put on your passport doesn't have any expire date. So basically it should be valid, I think. The insurance that you took becuase it was a requiremnet to get that sticker expired in a year. SO i Guess life -insurance is not what they check @ airport if they do.
I am planning not to go through hassel this time, becuase I have alreday asked permission to work abroad, and if ppl give me issues @ airport I am going to say that I have not cahnged my country of work abroad andits the same job.
Hope this helps..

Letter from Shram BIvag is just a 'paisa khane' bato @ Airport. I donot know why do we need to show them at the airport, though its not required , they might make this an issue to 'earn under the table'. Airport Authority sucks big time dude.  Make shre that you donot get stuck for the H1B stamping in Kathmandu, it took almost 3 weeks for me in Ottawa,Canada recently and only if your PIMS verification is done soon by USCIS and KCC, chances of getting stamped H1V visa within a weeks or so. Having said that, cases varies from person to person. All the best dude.

poon hill,
if you do have time , i strongly recommend to get it, its not much hassle compared to what they can do to you at the airport.
i have been through it, so if you have time , please do it.

all the best !

 Poon hill,

When I was there after 15 months of my inital stamping. I called there hotline (http://www.dofe.gov.np/en/) and asked them... do i need to apply for a new sticker and guy told me if u r leaving nepal with in 2 years of inital sticker date then we do not have to apply for new one.

And while departing also airport official check that sticker when he saw my H1 visa on the passport..

so my suggestion if ur 2 years have already expired then go for new sticker.. it will take 2 days ( 1 day to get medical certificate and next to for the receipt)

Sathiharu,
My question-why do we need to get "Shram" Certificate from Shram Bivagh to show at the Airport. Do govt of Nepal provide any security or insurance or anything to the interest of the citizen after getting Shram Certificate. There is reason for everything, esp for this Shram Certificate, I donot understand , is it like No Objection Certificate to work abroad and govt is not responsible for anythng the person does. Is it something like this?

Malai ta laghchaa yo "Kahi Nabhayeko Jatra hadi Gauma" jasto..samaye and paisa ko matra satyanash. ki kasso ho?

I went to Nepal in January 2011 and came back in Feb 2011. In that trip, I got my my H1b visa stamped on my passport. I never had any clue about this "Shram Certificate" and the Airport officials also didn't ask for this certificate. Now while I'm going through the discussions for this certificate, I am surprised and curious at the same time. Is it required by our law? I mean is it mentioned somewhere in government policies that H1B holders of US need this certificate?

So i went to New Baneshwor to find out Dept. of Foreign Employment where i had my first sticker, found out location is now in Tin Kunaee and had to go there. After some query found out that the validation of sticker is only for two years, so had to get a new one since it had a date in my original sticker. Nowadays you don't have to submit medical examination document. Materials are same: NRS 1825 worth of Life Insurence and NRS 1000 for voucher. Lot of people i.e. Lakhendas will tail you before the entrance gate, but there is a information desk inside office and people will guide you step by step what to do. Now you can do it on your own and will take 3 to 4 hrs to wrap up everything, but i grabbed a guy (Buddhi Ji, 9813634067) who had stamps, XEROX machine and everything ready to go. NRS 300 was a decent charge i gave him for helping me. So altogether it took me like 2 hrs max. Avoid Fridays to do this work.

Thanks for suggestions and hope i was also helpful to you. Gotta go Royal Palace Museum is still on Check list.....
