Has anyone seen it? Or planning to see?

Is it just plain and simple bush bashing or has some merits?

P.S. Planning to see it this weekend.
Kurikuri Posted on 25-Jun-04 05:57 AM

More's movie are worth watching, that is the impression I have after his Roger and.., and Bowling for Col... However, this movie 9/11 will make waves after all this is ellection year. Heard Bush is sweating, but underplaying to generate unwanted publicity for the movie.
luckydude Posted on 25-Jun-04 09:10 AM

why the hell would I want to spend money on that STUPID movie? I got better things to do.

EXACTLY LUCKYDUDE.

WORLD IS FULL OF WHINERS AND MOORE LEADING THE WAY.
gator_guy Posted on 25-Jun-04 09:42 AM

Folks,

Me in particular very interested in how politics, power and money flow around. In reality, there are lots of unexpected stuffs going behind the scene. This movie is then definite to fascinate me. M going for it tonight,, hmm friday evening,, i will have a great happy hour celebration today.

I don think the movie is just populated with unwanted stuffs. Definitely we can filter out some message from the movie,, if we think is unnecessary.

i like people who are open and express their opinion. I believe that is what makes us happy. Remember folks,, the Oscar speech of Moore, its stil in his website. I was impressed.

kurikuri is correct,, Bush is sweating. and the movie gonna make waves.

I am sure the movie is worth spending some dollars. Just go and watch it folks. I don think we can get anything special for those few dollars. message from the movie will be great.

llcoola Posted on 25-Jun-04 01:33 PM

I am planning to watch this weekend.Anything against Bush is an entertainment.
sukuti Posted on 25-Jun-04 01:49 PM

Same for me
Jonny_Blaze Posted on 25-Jun-04 07:48 PM

i dont give a goddamn if he's whinig or not, just to see Bush being ridiculed is a plus, actually seeing any politician being ridioculed is a plus.

I don't like Bush but i thought Moore was going about it the wrong way, but saw his interview on Jon Stewart's show and he justified his shit, he is not out there to change people's minds folks, he's just laying out the facts in a way that lean towards what he thinks of the republicans.

Besides there are some intense scenes, like a mother reading her son's letter days before he died...where he mentions something like if he ever got out of this war alive he'd never vote for an idiot like Bush.

Also as im sure all you have seen that scene from the commercials Bush talking about the war, then goes "now watch this drive" :: hits a drive ::...what a joker.

And i hear there is a scene where after 7 whole minutes of learning about 9/11, Bush sits through a reading session all glassey eyed in an elementary school.

As Conan O'Brian sez...::imitates Bush:: ""HUH?"

yup, i'll be wasting some money on some good ol fashioned whining and dining (ok that was bad).....outta my way!!

I'm sick 'n tired of watching Michel Moore's interiews on NBC, ABC, CNN, and even FOX News. I loved Moore's bowling for columbine. It was a masterpeice; there's no doubt about it. Anyway, "Fahrenheit 9/11" continues Moore's hatred for Bush from 'Bowling for Columbine' as if it is a sequal. And we all know what happens to sequals, they either make or break.

Let's see how america will respond to the movie.

Well,

I liked the movie, and was worth spending some dollars. i must say the movie is just against bush, and can be concluded that the movie was made to criticize Bush. But i think Bush deserves criticism also. And its always good to get some insight into how the system might be flowing (we can obviously filter out some things, if not digestable). I am very concerned how these big people in amrika do things, and we all know, their thinking and doing influences our fate here as well. There are many funny things to know about Bush in the movie, and i am sure many of the things there are true, if not all. There are many statements from Bush in the documentary, and its simply hard to believe he is the most powerful man on earth. The movie will make you laugh from time to time.

Not everythings might be the truth, but its a documentary and many things are true, i believe. The movie also gives insight into - how was Bush family related to the Saudi big shots, and how everything is going with money.

Strongly encourage u all to watch this movie.
Casey00 Posted on 26-Jun-04 07:43 AM

Bowling for Columbine was a great documentary..and his job in it is a true masterpiece. But I am very skeptical about his new movie, which comes during the time of election..I see this as propaganda...Although he tells people that this is solely his perspective..I wonder.where he is being infulenced from..

I am not going to watch this movie soon..I am gonna wait until it appears on Kazaa lol..sorry I am broke guys...

I feel the movie was worth watching. Despite it seemed ridiculous at times, it was worth spending few hours and few bucks. My Opinion!

Those who have seen it, please share your experience.

I see I was not alone in the theater. With 21.8 million sales, it topped the weekend Box Office!

Check out this news from Monday morning!

"Fahrenheit 9/11," in which Moore takes aim at President Bush (news - web sites), and the war in Iraq (news - web sites), opened at No. 1 after selling about $21.8 million worth of tickets in the United States and Canada since June 25.
JazzyBeLLe Posted on 28-Jun-04 07:51 AM

I thought this doc. was very powerful.. There were parts that had me balling when they showed the mother from flint, Michigan whose son died in Iraq. Equally moving was seeing that woman in Iraq who was crying because her house had been destoryed and she had been to 5 funerals already because of the US attacks. I really felt for her and the other innocent civilians especially the kids-they didn't ask to be put in this situation and they really can't do anything about it sadly.

The funnies was when Bush couldn't get the quote "fool me once, shame on u, fool me twice, shame on me".. what an idiot.
fly_bizzle Posted on 28-Jun-04 08:16 AM

I felt like this was yet another masterpiece by Moore. Some scenes were graphic but it was put in context and was very effective to show how the innocent suffered while the powerful got what they wanted. I never thought a documentary would be this absorbing. Makes me hate Bush even more now. I liked how Moore was subtle yet strong when proving his point. For example, it was funny how he tried to nicely convince members of congress to enlist their sons n daughters in the army. Outta 500 something members, only 1 has their kid enlisted! Well overall it was a very well put together documentary and is worth viewing at least once.
AX Posted on 28-Jun-04 10:22 AM

Congratulation Moore. I hope Bush wins the election so Mr Moore can't make few more millions :)

will watch the documentry someday when it will be avail for free.

Nope, no plans to see the "feels-good-to-feel-bad" fleem of the summer. Though Moore's shooting right to the top of death pools everywhere. Talk about a walking M.I. from MI...what the heck is eating Mike Moore?? After hearing Ray Bradbury's thoughts, I had all I needed to know on the flick. This was icing on the cake from Chris Hitchens:

http://slate.msn.com/id/2102723/

I particularly enjoyed the part about betraying one's craft...
confused Posted on 29-Jun-04 07:59 PM

What a movie!!

enjoyed it throughly, America is really a great country, World's most powerful man can be thrashed like this!! Moore is great, i enjoyed his Bolowing for colombine, and this one was also great. He puts all the pieces together and throws bush in a big hole...AND HE DESERVES IT!!!!

he is really a great documentary maker, and one thing more, if America's media wud have been more like Moore and gave in depth and REAL coverage of whats happening, than i think Moore didnt have to waste his time making this documentary...
momo_cha Posted on 30-Jun-04 09:59 AM

how bout making a documentary/critique of our present king?
or
girija prasad or any of the party leaders?

should be interesting.
confused Posted on 30-Jun-04 11:59 AM

mom cha bro..

that can never happen....or they wont let it happen..

thats y America is Such a great country, everything can be done out here..if you have a dream, you can accomplish it :)
john doe Posted on 30-Jun-04 01:39 PM

yeah, why dont you tell that to the nepali guy who got incarcerated in complete isolation for 4 long months just because he was videotaping a building in NY that happened to house the FBI in 3 of its floors.

Quite the land of oportunity, aint it?
confused Posted on 30-Jun-04 01:55 PM

john doe,

i aint suprised with it, a FOREIGNER videotaping and Goverment got Suspicious??

but my point is , IN Nepal being a NEpali citizen (not only in nepal, anyother country in the WORLD, even Britian) , you cannot do what Moore has done out here in America,(a movie, playing in every theater around the country, not even censored by govt. in anyway) Can you make a movie about Ganendra's BLACK BUSSINESS, or KOIRALA's corruptions..or even make movie about Royal Palace in Britian and its KALO history behind the Palace door.. .hehe thats just Simply impossible...

America aint just another country in the world :)
john doe Posted on 30-Jun-04 02:29 PM

if you still think Britain's royalty is protected by a dark shroud of secrecy, I got news for you - they may well be the most demystified royalty in the world. Being a royalty in England is to have your every move photographed, written about, and scrutinized in tabloids around the world. Americans have Hollywood. The British have Buckingham Palace.

Fahrenheit 911 would be just another walk in the park to the Brits. No biggie, if you prefer American slang.
