nice work, TMA. Your style is truly original, and the fact that you're writing with an Aussie perspective is a breath of fresh air.

Friday night, I am caressing my drink thinking how thinkless I have become. Drinking so far have never become guilt free adventure, always it doesnýt fail to leave some guilt. Nonetheless I am drinking. And music is running. Itýs both Hindi and Nepali. I am not so choosy when it comes to music. I listen to music by only listening to the tunes and listen to one or two lines of lyrics. Donýt know why I donýt pay attention to lyrics. Any way Friday night, I am all alone waiting for my roommate to come. I hope he wonýt get mad for not cooking food today. I will lend my land if he initates cooking otherwise I donýt feel like cooking today. I donýt feel like watching TV either. Didnýt want to read newspaper. Itýs full of the same story- Iraq, Bush, Gyanendra, Moist, etc.
Then I venture to Sajha. Saw nothing interesting. Then saw TMAýs posting. Never took TMAýs posting serious before, so read his narrative reluctantly. I found it smooth like blue label scotch.[ Yea Iým drunkard even my analogy comes from booze.] I donýt write and post regularly here at Sajha. I am so called ýsilent majorityý. Not what Nixon termed. Sorry silent reader. Today in drunken stupor, I write here. Pardon me if it makes no sense to reader.

P.S: TMA keep on writing. Your writing has flow!

Well written Ashish.

BTW if your narrative is non-fictional, I suggest these excellent pubs next time you have an opportunity for an outing with your mates if you haven't already done so that is:

Amber Lounge @ Lonsdale St.
The Elephant and Wheelbarrow @ Oxford St.
Spy Lounge @ King St.
The Lounge @ Spencer St.

You may find the same sort of dodgy pommies in The Elephant and Wheelbarrow as you would in Y&J, but at least they acknowledge 'hey you're not a POM !'. Y&J is an overrated pub really; only a few blokes and sheilas show up.

As a fellow Gumsucker, I can honestly tell ya how much fun ya must have had :-)

Melbourne truly rocks !

Quite true to some extent.

Traveling enthusiasts domiciled in Sydney don't exactly know how to best apprize the Melbourne culture, and vice versa. Found this out when I tried to convince a female companion from Sydney that Melbourne's vivacity is second to none :-)

Itýs inherently similar to someone living in the Bay area, who has just been told that New Yorkers enjoy the most a city life has to offerý
