Thank you, Noname ji. Aba ta Wah wah paauna ra 'thank you' bhanna pani sochnu parne jasto chha. Cliché bhanidelan bhanne dar ! Anyway, that line is my favorite too. Makes me aghast every time I read. >ke parechha ni tyasto?! Well, let's leave some for Dilasha too. Nevertheless, I am giving the meaning of some words, just in case. baha = anguish gaha = tearful eye tahataha = a mimic word for the moonlight at an eerie night saha = affluence. Nepe ji, Thanks! Can you just enlighten me what is the difference about Chok and haiku?? I just remembered Bikram Subba who was once a famous chok kabi. All I know is Chok is a very short version of poem. Waiting in earnest! |

Nepe hajur, Badhai chha for the BLANK email....I would have also done same if I was her... If you read Nepali "dantya katha", in one story there is a Princess who cover her face with her shining dark long hair and rips the back of her 'Choli', which means the Princess is suggesting the Prince to come in using the back door after dark. In the same vein Dilasha's blank e-mail I interpret as her Dil (heart) is empty and there is enough space for you to accomodate only you. So fill up her Dil as much as u can writing full of sweet whispers... Best wishes Nepe hajur... |

Bhunte ji, Thank you for your interpretation. ************** Before it goes any further, I should make two disclaimers. First, I am not sure yet if it is Dilasha who sent me a blank message. Second, the poem was lifted from somewhere with the consent of the poet who happens to be my Jigari dost. I will welcome any comments, criticism and wah wah to the poem though, and I promise to pass them to the kabi ji himself. This should not lessen the fun. Because what's in name, No ? It's the story that matters. |

My oh my I am just speechless!! Hmmm......what can I say except that I am again mesmerized by the simple yet beautiful words of Nepe ji who never ceases to enthrall us with his poetic gift and of course a bit dumfounded to know that my email was the source of inspiration(?) What was so grilling about it that beckoned you to dedicate such a special ghazal to me I wonder but without further feelings of bewilderment, let me tell you Nepe ji, that you ARE the essence of Sajhas existence and it is only through your ghazals that it continues to shine. Some people write when they are up some do when theyre down and out but you seem to BREATHE those very words that touch us so deeply that they transcend us to a different level of awareness. Such is the charisma, the true essence of the poet in you, which I pray never dies-our very own quintessential Ghalib that you are! ***** Nepe ji, (pardon my grammatical errors but I couldn't think of better words to express my gratitude) Adaa karti hoon shukriya is naadir tohfe ke liye Rakhoongi apne paas tanhaain mein saath paane ke liye woh alfaaz hain ya phulon ki khushboo? jaise koi dastaan inmein chupi hui ho jaise koi dar-e-yaar kahin khuli hui ho aap shayar hain ya saahir? Btw, the last nepali ghazal (with the yellow background) is a classic! I even tried to sing it with my own tune. You must collaborate with a musician and I bet it'll make a memorable song. Wot say you nepe ji? |

I tried to hum it on my tune like dilasha did, and it works great in rupak taal... aru pani jaawosh. Okay, the only thing I know the most is that I want to KNOW. what are these kinds of gazals called, where the end part of the second line is identical..? I like these kind of stuffs the most... hazur.... do you have anything like this in your collection, where they have identicle piece through out the song...? cha bhane chaapum na tyasto piece haru. Don't worry about what it is called though. kinda like; Jindagi tune lahu le ke diya, kuch bhi nahi Tere daaman main mere waaste kyaa kuch bhi nahi Dil bhi ik jid pe ada hain kisi bachchae ki tarah ya to sab kuch hi ishe chaahiye ya kuch bhi nahi mere haathon ki chaaho to talaasi le le mere haathon main lakeeron ke siba kuch bhi nahi curious...;) |
