Next time I am in Nepal, I will try it for sure :) AMBASSADOR ON A ROLL: German Ambassador to Nepal His Excellency Rudiger Lemp on a roller skate in deserted Kalimati streets, Kathmandu, during Monday's general strikes.

Why show off simple living high thinking Nepalese with his gadgets? Last time the police were taking the roller blades/skates of anyone using it in the street. Why do they give preferential treatment to foreigners and scorn the Nepali public?

A friend and I motorbiked around the entire Ring Road this afternoon. (Only a few vehicles were on the street.) Today too is Nepal Bandh. Saw a number of of people on rollerblades and rollerskates. Many young women and kids were on cycles or just walking by -- lazily. Teenagers were playing cricket -- right in the middle of the road. People are using Nepal Bandhs to let their hair down and just relax. I understand that businesses in Thamel stayed open. oohi ashu ktm, nepal

What is so showing off about roller blading? I just dont understand why you are so pissed about it.....its a fun thing to do and ...even I was thinking it would be great to rollerblade on the streets of kathmadnu during Nepal bandh...and why were the police so pissed about it? Saroj go get some hobby...instead about bitching about people who have some...

Totally agree with you bhenda2. what's up with saroj man...that's not showing off...it's a good mean to commute when there is never ending "Nepal Bandh" plus, it's a great physical exercise. Yo saroj man, like bhenda2 said, go and get your lazy ass out and get some thing positive to do instead of bitching about good things...

Saroj, There were people (young Nepalis) on rollerskates and rollerblades on the street this afternoon. Even that Nepal's answer to Disney Land, an amusement park called Dragon World in Bhrikuti Mandap has a skating rink. oohi ashu ktm, nepal
